I think guest blogging can be a great way to get unique content for your blog and it would also help in maintaining readers’ interest. But how do you approach guest bloggers for persuading them to write guest posts for your blog?

You can ask them for an exchange, if they are interested in such a business they will reply and you can make a deal with them. No harm in asking.

First we need to be very regular- daily or once in two/three days on our blogs. Secondly, we ought to be commenting a lot on others’ blogs and foremost our blog content can be general or niche but “compelling” enough for reading.

There are websites that help people find guest blogging gigs. You could check out sites like MyGuestBlog, and see if you can find writers that way.

You could approach friends who are writers in a suitable niche and simply ask them for a favour. When I was approached for guest blogging like this in the past, the site owner was offering a small honorarium (I think it was $5) to write the post. She also wrote her own post that spoke of the guest blogger and linked to a few of that author’s posts elsewhere.

You can also put a post or a notice on your blog to announce that you are looking for guest bloggers. Tell them to contact you, and see who responds. This is one way to guarantee that the people who offer will at least be familiar with your blog already. Their writing may them be a better match for the content you already have on your blog.
