I am sure most women are into fashion. The best place to witness the newest trend is in the city of Milan, Italy. This country is well-known for hosting two fashion weeks annually. The Milan Fashion Week was first organized in 1958. Nowadays, it is considered the “Big Four” fashion weeks that usually hosted in New York, then London, Milan and ends in Paris. Are you fond of fashion trends? If not, do you have your own fashion statement to the public?

I never follow fashions but go by what makes me comfortable. And yes. If the latest trends make me comfortable I will go for them.

I am not a fashion trend setter but do set trends in other areas (lol)

@bestwriter I do think that being comfortable is the most important thing. I also don’t follow fashion trends for men. I do have my own style in fashion sense. Why I should wear some clothes that are not suitable for me. Some people do this and proud of wearing it. In fact, it doesn’t good to them.

@shavkat Why would you think most women will be interested in fashion?

I think if I were to make a trip to Milan what other women were wearing would be about the last thing I’d care about. I would want to see DaVinci’s painting of The Last Supper, to wander around the churches and museums to see the incredible art and architecture, and to explore the subway. I would want to find local markets to shop in, to listen to music and to just hear people speak Italian or Lombard. And of course, I would want to take time to sample the Milanese cuisine.

Would I want to hit the shopping district, to attend a fashion show, or to fuss over what clothes to wear while on my visit? Not in the slightest! Like Grace, I’d rather wear clothes that feel comfortable – or clothes that have a practical purpose – than to follow the fashion trends. I’ve known a lot of women over the years, and I can only think of a small handful who care a fig about the latest fashions.

@ruby3881   Are you a mind reader as that is exactly  what I also wanted to say  😀

@shavkat  When mini dresses were in fashion even those with drumstick legs wore them. Also leggings do not suit the Indian climate and there is great demand for them as well  Ugh……….

@bestwriter I thought someone should speak up. We women aren’t just pretty flowers to be adorned in clothes that flatter our figures and patted on the hand. We can have an interest in arts and academics, in science and technology, in sports, in politics or business, in the law and social justice. I have met very few shallow women in my lifetime so far. And in every case, they were very young girls in their late teens or early 20s. Once those girls had some life experience, I’ll bet they developed a little added depth.

These fashion designers do it with money in mind as they need to draw something and make it trendy – something different from what they have done before and the gullible fall a prey.

It is women themselves who are responsible for this state of affairs. If they just ignore those fashions and go for as you say what makes them feel comfortable designers will be out of business.

@ruby3881 Let me put this way, most modern girls love to follow trendy clothes. These are the things that makes them into such lifestyle. As for me, I will explore the different places in Milan. I would rather enjoy my life knowing the culture and its practices in certain places. Whenever I travel, I always look where to find the museums in town. I am fascinated with the artifacts that depict the history of the place.

@bestwriter Some skinny girls love to wear mini skirts. Personally, I don’t appreciate it that much. Since it should matches to their personality.

@shavkat  They would rather be trendy than look nice.  (lol)

@bestwriter I totally agree on that.

I don’t know anything about Milan fashion.

All the while I thought Milan is related to football or soccer!

@shavkat I’m not sure who qualifies as a “modern girl,” but I think you’ll find that women of all ages have more on their minds than fashion. If most of the women you’ve met so far love the trends that much, I’d advise you to try meeting women in some new places – perhaps at a lecture or a museum!
