This is an interesting question. these are two very important things in anyone’s life and i know each one of us has a favorite there are those who will go for sleep and there are those who will choose food. but for me depending on how tired i am, that will determine what i will do, obviously if am too tired there is no way i will go to the kitchen and cook where does the energy come from, so i will definitely go for my bed and sleep. because when i sleep i won’t feel hungry

It depends how hungry I am! There are certain hunger pangs I can ignore by sleeping but I also encounter cravings so bad, it is difficult to focus to sleep again! So when that happens, I’d get up for a bit and get something – maybe a fruit of some crackers. And now that you mention it, I think I need to eat some snacks LOL!

I read somewhere in the internet that sleep will always override your other needs. Meaning, you will fall asleep if you’re really sleepy no matter how hungry or thirsty your are. But personally, I love to sleep. I can sleep over a meal if I have to.

When I am sleepy, I don’t eat anymore even though I am hungry, growling stomach.

I just drink a cup of warm milk and go to sleep

If I eat before I sleep, I have to wait for it to digest

If sleep after eating, I will become fat because the food is not digested, goes into the under skin

Yes, i only drink warm milk to warm my stomach and I will go back to bed after it because I don’t want to ruin my sleep. I guess I still have it on my system when i prioritize sleeping more than eating.

Now normally I try to eat before sleeping, unless on some rare occasions when I am so so tired that I can’t help sleeping.

Snack while you’re at your computer, writing. When you feel tired and you need the rest, sleep.  when you wake up, go back to your writing hobby and snack. Hehe!

Recently, I noticed if I drink a lot of water / milk before sleeping, I get puffy face in the morning.

Wow, looked horrible, as if the bees had stung my face !

So, drink only 1 hour before sleeping.

warm milk or cocoa is great before sleeping but 1 hour before hitting the bed

Somewhat interesting like who is first? Egg or Duck?

If the sleep is due to hunger then you should not delay. First, have some food. If you feel sleepy then give a gap of at least 30 minutes and then go for sleeping

@Grecy Garcia Well, if I am very hungry and sleepy too, then I will surely eat first before going to sleep. I am sure I can’t sleep with empty stomach even if I am feeling sleepy. Its other matter if I am very tired. But first thing I will do it is eating. Most of the people say that we should eat less in the night, and I know the reasons too. But honestly I can’t do that as with empty stomach I don’t get good sleep most of the time.

@peachpurple why is that happens? does the bees knows you are too sweet because you drank milk before you go to bed?

I used to go on a snack actually before bedtime but that is when I know I have to be online for the rest of the night.

I have noticed that people who have midnight craving for food end up getting more weight. Also their biological clocks for the sleep is disturbed. So they have to do some change in lifestyle. And that way they can regain the health. I am thinking that it would be possible for us to have better health. I am not sure if it’s possible for skinny people to have such cravings but mostly overweight people or people who are gaining weight slowly have it from my observation.

I will sleep first. And a long sleep. I can withstand my empty stomach but not sleepy eyes!

You see, our bodies are different. For some, they can sleep without, while for some, it doesn’t work that way. As for me, I eat before sleeping and I can only sleep when I’m full. Although these days, I tend to eat dinner early so the food digests well before bed. With science , once you are full, it registers in your brain and then you fall asleep. I fall asleep in the office after a meal which I think is normal. Our bodies respond to these things automatically.
