http://172.104.9.193/members/ruby3881/ I think someone had accidentally pressed the wrong button. There is nothing wrong with her comment. Honestly, I had never eaten any weird food in y life. The only weird food here would be horse meat, rabbit burgers, deer meat and wild boar pork. I heard that other countries do sell insects as snacks like nuggets but I would definitely puke at the sight of them! We should consume the normal domestic food like chicken, fish, pork, beef and mutton. Spare those poor insects and animals from the dining table
@cely Well, I guess you afraid of doing some new adventure in food. I must admit that I tried a couple of times during my college days. At present, I don’t go for it. Since I heard so many ailments that may happen if munching this kind of street foods. @peachpurple I never tried extreme delicacies. I am afraid that I will be inflicted by bacteria in street foods. At this point of time, the experience can be said that I had tried once and no plans of doing it again.
@Shavkat, Maybe I can try if my friends too try hehe. What if the food is not yummy and tasty. When I went to Seoul, Korea I tasted their food and I never liked their taste so peppery, full of chili.
@ruby3881, That is very nice, at least there is assurance of safe food.So when something bad happens it’s the said restaurant to answer all, so they have to be very careful too.In the country where I live , street foods are seen anywhere and people flock to the area. Why? Street foods are cheaper without knowing that when the consumers get sick, the value of the medicine is above the neck.
@cely That’s nice to hear. You are tagging your friends.lol I could try these strange foods if I know how it was being prepared.
Living in the south (United States) we have a few “bizarre” foods. At least I think they are bizarre. Some here eat what is called chitlins or Chitterlings. It’s normally made from the small intestines of a pig. BTW chitlins stinks to high heavens. Tripe is similar to chitlins but is made from beef (cow). There is also hog maws which is made from the pig’s stomach. My grandmother’s favorite was hog head cheese. There is also hog maws which is made from the pig’s stomach. My grandmother’s favorite was hog head cheese. Then we have pickled pigs feet. It seems that every single part of the pig is used in the south. I have even seen people eat deep fried butter. I still haven’t figured that one out. Fried alligator on a stick is a fair delicacy and is really good. I’m sure some people will find that a little odd. So some things I might try while others I know I will not even give it a thought of trying. I stopped eating all forms of pork 5 years ago.
@evilelf It seems similar to some delicacy in the Philippines. The only difference is how it was being prepared. In fact, I don’t like eating them. It seems my food passages cannot endure the taste and hot it looks.
As you said these foods are available in almost all countries. The need for having such foods on the Street is mainly due to; 1. While touring people can get some food immediately to fill their stomach and to go ahead 2. The people with low-income group feel it comfortable to go for such stuff as they can not afford for expensive food in big Hotels 3. The food will be available on the spot and the prices will be somewhat low; 4. It provides some employment to the youth who otherwise will take a wrong path; Except for the quality the ambience of the food preparation will be quite good. They prepare food item right in front of us. So need to suspect the cleanliness. If not, we can ask and demand them. Tourists will be of many categories. There will be Cultural Tourists/ Group Tourists who generally do not prefer street food. They try to exhibit their status etc when they come out and moving with others. Honeymoon Couple never prefer this food. The Indie Travellers will definitely like this food. The very aim of these travelers is to know and meet with different people, places , traditions, cultures, and habits. But, at the same time, they take every care of their health. They travel well equipped with medicines, guide, food guidelines etc., and help others also. So with their help even the other groups are also preferring this food for a change only.

@shivamani I don’t have any against from having street foods. It would be nice for foreign people that can taste such delicacies. We just need to be vigilant for eating it.
Street food mmhh in my country street food is the same food that people eat in their homes. But iust the thought of buying and eating street food gives me the jitters. But if you think about it sometimes its very sweet and tasty i dont know what they put in it. But if there is a place where i can be very uncomfortable to buy street food even in the hotels and restuarants is in China. Not in bad taste but we all know Chinese eat most of the weirdest foods in the world. I don’t think am being unfair to them. Because when you hear them having certain delicacies it’s something that will cause unsettling thoughts to others, but to them it’s alright to eat. That’s a place I would think twice before i can eat anything.
@naitah I totally agree with you. There is some bizarre food in China that I wouldn’t dare to do it. I also heard that they eat everything. It was also claimed by some Chinese people that I had acquainted before. |
