Problems are part and parcel of one’s way of life. They may be small or big, bad or worse, simple or complex. Problems are unavoidable but they can be handled in perspective. The above quotation talks about how the elephant could be consumed. Imagine how big is the elephant. So, everyone’s acumen is being tested. Along that quotation, the problem can be compared to an elephant. On how it is eaten piece by piece, one at a time to speak. Thus, the problem which is too immense, too big, worse to say, can be solved not in an instant, but gradually. I know that quotation is the reflection of my son’s point of view as a programmer. Writing a program for a system is a big task to handle. A single system is run by a long code and it is too taxing to write it according to him. So he has told me that he could do it by writing them division by division, span by span until it is completed. Thus, life’s serious problem may be remedied.

Nothing can be achieved overnight. Everything has to be approached in a systematic and organised way – bit by bit
@nakitakona13 in fact that is how the software programs are written. My daughter writes programs in pieces and you will be surprised to note that there are scores are involved in writing one program sitting in different countries. The company gives them in parts and later combined them together.
Sometimes our life is being nibbled piece by piece of people who wanted to pull you to the ditch. But, we can break through from them and learn to push them away in our lives. Big dreams can be attained by doing in baby steps towards it. As you have said, it resembles the elephant as our big dream. It can be attainable one step at a time by ignoring the nibblers who wanted to snatch our biggest dream in life.
Even if you do everything in haste , hitting an eye simultaneous, but the result is still imperfect.Doing a task one at a time may give assurance of a perfect work, thus , we receive better feedback and output. We also need to plan and set aside other areas to complete the tasks done one at a time.

@bestwriter, I got it. Your point consists of an approach which is systematized, organized bit by bit. It is done through a process wherein there is a system on accomplishing things. This could be completed for it is organized as to what to be done first until the last part is fulfilled. Now we can see how it is realized “one at a time”. This has convinced me that you are a well-organized person. You know what are those to be prioritized, what are those to be done later. You have control of your work for you know what to do. That is I usually like for a person like you. Making things done, bit by bit and the rest follow. This quotation which my son relayed is a question he came across somewhere. If read it and interpret verbatim it seems difficult to eat the whole elephant for its hugeness. The reply, of course, is to be clever and practical.
@nakitakona13 There is a management technique called PERT – Performance (lor programme) evaluation and review technique. This approach need not be restricted to big organisations but could be applied also in our day to day life. If you have not come across this which I am sure you must have then here is a link that talks about it https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Program_evaluation_and_review_technique

@bestwriter, I know it. It was sometime in 1975. That was 41 years ago, we had a lengthy discussion about PERT and we were required by our college instruction to submit a program analysis using that technique. I remember th@bestwriter, I know it. It was sometime in 1975. That was 41 years ago, we had a lengthy discussion about PERT and we were required by our college instruction to submit a program analysis using that technique. I remember that I was the leader of our group and I reported it in front of my classmates. It is very effective to solve a problem systematically. I even emphasize the importance of a time frame for any project or the timeliness of the solution to the problem. Recently, the management technique that we are using in our school is the so-called SWOT analysis. S stands for strengths. W for weaknesses. O for opportunities. And T for threats. Those things give a clear view on how to the situation’s perspective is viable. And they are effective. They make things easy gone one at a time. I have been working in the bank for 5 years. PERT and other management methodologies are discussed by us to contribute to the success of the bank’s function and its service to the clients.at I was the leader of our group and I reported it in front of my classmates. @Nakitokona13 Wow!! Happy we have an expert around. Do give us your advice whenever one is in trouble about how to approach an issue in a systematic way.
@Shavkat, That is life we have to fight for. Whatever problems come our way, let us solve them one at a time, and also not good to accommodate all problems at one time, you will surely weaken your spirit. |
