I multi-task a lot when I am online. I have at least 7-8 tabs open as I read my emails, Facebook updates, MyLot, Blogjob, Chatabout, Literacy Base updates etc. If I did not do that, I would never get things done in the limited amount of time I have online. If I am writing a post, then I only concentrate on my work, because I don’t want to be distracted and make errors. @Grecy Garcia I hope you feel better soon and motivated again. Blogjob suspending its reward system has been a big blow for all of us. *Hugs*

@sunil If the money has been sent to someone successfully, then I suppose they couldn’t do anything as well. Hope someone really received that money and found good use of it. 🙂 @slayer08 Yes, I agree with you. Actually I think multitasking is not a good way to manage our time. While I am doing multiple things at one time, it doesn’t mean I am effective in doing all of them actually. I would actually prefer to focus one thing at a time, then move to the next too. What I am trying to do is perhaps I set 30 minutes for task one, then 5 minute break to do something else, then come back to continue either task one or two, depending on the priority. This helps me to manage my work better. But, sometimes I am just too tempted on some sites, like LB or mylot, as I will keep on reading and responding. 😀 I think it’s fine to watch a video while clicking on ads, as I don’t pay fully attention on watching some videos, that’s why I still click on PTC sites. 🙂
@Lee Ka You are right! Most days, it’s better to manage time. I found out that you have to set priorities in order for you to finish more. You have to accomplish the things that cannot wait or has deadlines to do away with them and you have to continue on with the other things that can wait or can be put off – last.
@Lee Ka No, in such cases the money goes back to sender where there is no one to claim it (and with wrong email ID, there is no chance anyone can claim it, not even you if you try to make an ID which is next to impossible). But in such cases no one responds to your queries. Same happened with me in 2012 when triond sent me $18+ but I had put a wrong email address while living in another country and I had attached that ID to my Local bank. as I said it is all a part of the game so I have stopped worrying about these miner glitches we all commit in our life time.
@Grecy Garcia I used to be like you- good at multi tasking. But now I feel that multi-tasking doesn’t let me focus and fully concentrate on the task in hand. So now I take up sites one by one. Multi-tasking is especially distracting when one is writing. The only time I multi-task now is when I watch television. I generally read a book while the television is on.
@sunil Perhaps you have too many payment requests, hence it seems like you have entered wrong email id quite a number of times. I guess it’s good to just focus when you are entering the email id. 🙂 Yes, I agree with you. No matter how, it’s good to stop worrying too much, but just focus on what we want to do. I always reminded myself with this, as I used to worry quite a lot: “Worrying is like a rocking chair, it gives you something to do, but it doesn’t get you anywhere.” 🙂 @dawnwriter Yes, I agree that some of us do not have much online time, and we would like to stay active in several sites, so we just have to do that. I can’t open too many tabs, as it’ll slow down my computer performance. My computer is a little bit old, and the software project I am working on requires more resources, so I just try to limit to two sites when I am working. It helps me to stay focus too. @slayer08 I totally agree with you. It seems like we think alike on this. 🙂
@kaka135 a lot of us in here are from Bubblews and we failed to get our money from that site. The owner of the site said that our views and earnings doesn’t exists. Oh well, that is life. They owe me $700+ and they keep on denying it. @slayer08 actually multitasking ruins your focus that is why it is not advisable though woman can do it good. I wonder who do it bests!
@dawnwriter yes it is a big blow that is why I am focusing on Humanatic more this time to still have my earnings, hugs. @kaka135 i have lots of tabs too especially when I am working at Humanatic. I don’t mind doing UsabilityHub, Ayuwage, Bitcoin minings while reviewing calls. But Humanatic while blogging, I can’t do it now. I remember I am good doing it before but maybe there is something wrong with me now or me feeling down is the reason multitasking is not effective on me at present. @swalia I am not good in multitasking right now. Like exactly, this May, I only noticed that I am a failure in doing Multitasking.

@Gecy Maybe you are not a failure, but your brain is telling you to slow down and focus on just one thing to give yourself a little rest. I know that when you are down it is hard to concentrate on one thing let alone several at a time. Give yourself time. You are not a failure. You work very hard and have a lot to think about in your personal life. So rest and regain your emotional strength which can take longer to recoup than physical strength. @dawnwriter That is a lot of tabs open. LOL I only have about 4 open at any given time and sometimes, I forget to go to them when I get involved in some of the sites that I do. If that works for you then that is great. I think that you have to do what works for you even though that might not work for everyone. @kaka135 You are very disciplined when it comes to working online and I wish that I could be that way. I am a very disorganized person and no matter how many times I try, I cannot become more organized. I am terrible to making lists so I find it hard to remember what sites I need to do each day. 🙂
I am still multitasking to the max, but they all have their orderly level. I run the dish washer , then wash a load of laundry, then dry a load of laundry, then run back to check in my laptop, eating a bite, drinking a sip, back to typing. LOL..Is this multi-tasking? I have the need to be busy with my hands even when I am all done with my work online for the time being. I do need to take breaks in between if I don’t want my tendonitis to get bad!
@grecy095 I just can’t imagine how you could review call and blog at the same time. I always thought I am good at multitasking, and you are really superb! So, you are totally not a failure in doing multitasking. Please do not be too harsh to yourself. Love yourself! 🙂 Though I do multi task, I actually still do one thing at a time, or it depends what the task is. I can watch movie and click on ads at the same time, as I switch my focus here and there, but when I write or watch webinars, I need to be focus, as I need to think clearly. @morgoodie I always think I am not disciplined. I should spend more time on my freelance project, but instead I am spending time on the online sites. 😀 @icybc I do that as well, that’s why I am always coming in and out from my study all day long, and that gives me break from my computer as well. Will the tendonitis be able to cure totally? Hope it’ll be fine soon.
First, I want to say @grecy095 is the “queen” of multitasking!! 😉 Anyway, yeah, I have 6-7 tabs open and am doing housework as well as listening to the radio!! No wonder I forget what I”m doing some times!! lol
@morgoodie that it is exactly. I am feeling down because of a lot of things, money issue and maybe frustrations about goals that I will never achieve. I will be okay, I just don’t like forcing myself. Just today, I received a bad news. I will share it on a blog. @icybc that is definitely a multitasking dear. I do that one too, washing dishes while singing, bathing will singing, reading book while tickling the nose of my cats, eating chocolate while watching Insurgent, you know that kind of things. @kaka135 that was before sissy, now I can’t do it anymore. Sometimes I do it, it depends on the kind of calls I am reviewing. When I already listen to the keyword, I will just fast forward to know how the call will end and while the calls are downloading, I am blogging. Lately, I can’t do this. @4cryingoutloud me too. I sometimes blog while eating and then I finished what I am eating but I haven’t started any words or paragraph on my blog.

I just remembered this forum thread when I was reading this article from Nourishing Minimalism – How to become a productive person, and the answer is not multitasking, but single-tasking. You can read the article here if you are interested: http://nourishingminimalism.com/2015/02/use-this-tool-to-be-the-most-productive-person-possible.html
I can do it in my work place as a teacher, I am always the first of all tasks before and even now. In relation to on line jobs, I have many concerns this summer 3 blog sites, but when class starts on June 14, I will dismiss 1 or 2. I cannot mix my work in school and in internet. Thanks sissy, am happy to see you logged. |
