Resume theft is unheard of in any country. It shows the lack of integrity and will eventually get the person fired from their job if they end up getting it in the first place. It is not a good thing to lie on your resume and even worse to steal someone else’s credentials. Here in America, we do background checks so if this does happen it would be found out before a job offer is given to the person.

Unfortunately due to the extremely high levels of corruption and nepotism in India, resume theft is widespread with large companies allegedly google, tata involved in resume theft of honest hardworking experienced Paypal account holders, domain investors to destroy competition and acquire talent and technology cheaply. R&AW , the indian equivalent of CIA is called Relatives and associates wing because it is filled with relatives and friends of top officials with fake resumes, fake work, fake investment as top officials are great blackmailers .
There is almost nothing a victim of resume theft can do in India because all top officials are extremely corrupt, complaining to the anti corruption department or the media does not help . The high levels of corruption and nepotism in India is the reason why india is a poor country compared to USA and others which have better systems in place and background checks are carried out
