Sorry to hear that you had a rough day @ruby3881. It’s normal though. Everyone experienced those moments. But sometimes we had to vent out just to let out the disappointments. Someday, you will look back on this day and tell yourself that you survived. J I just hope you’re having a good day now.

@rachz85 It did feel much better t talk about my frustration – and to read the encouragement from my friends here on LB!
@bestwriter Having a new employee must be fatiguing, especially in one’s own household. I’m sure you’ll have no trouble finding creative ways to overcome the hearing deficit. In no time at all, you’ll probably feel your maid has been with you for an eternity! @shavkat Breath certainly is a source of calm and healing. It does help to have words and friends who listen with empathy too, though, for times when deep breathing isn’t enough 🙂
@Ruby 3881 – Is that really the Queen? @Queen_UK Are you the real queen? Yes I agree with you.
@ruby3881 – I had a mute gardener working for us and that was 15 years ago. When younger, handling someone like that was not a task. I learnt sign language but now I have my one foot in the grave and it is not easy. I am packing her off.
@bestwriter It is harder to adapt as we get older. I hope you’ll give her a positive reference, so she can find something more suitable.
I suggested to her folks that a younger employer could tolerate her. I am waiting for the agent to take her back.
@ruby3881 I am sorry to hear that you had such a rough day. Hope today is a better day for you. 🙂 It is really frustrating especially when you got something wrong in the early morning, especially when kids need to go to school in time. It seems like no matter how old the kids are, the mother still needs to be in charge of everything – waking up the kids, filling up the snacks, etc. Hope you’ll be able to get some money and buy the new cell phones for everyone soon. I agree with @peachpurple, perhaps it’s good to put down something not so important, and make ourselves feel better first. It’s nice that we have LiteracyBase here for us to vent a bit, and it seems like the friends here are so supportive. I vent in mylot sometimes. I always like to set two different time for the alarm clock features in my cell phone, as @peachpurple said, perhaps 10 or 15 minute difference, just in case I might miss the first one. But, since it’s your cell phone not working properly, perhaps you need to get another alarm clock that works fine at the moment. So, has your oldest got another summer job?
@kaka135 My oldest turned down an offer to go to one of the army cadet training centres this summer. She had applied for a different facility, and the one she got doesn’t offer programs for which she feels she could be an instructor. So she decided to try her luck here in town, which will allow her to spend time working on her art and her crafting. She is hoping to attend some of the local pop up malls as a vendor, and to sell some of her crafts either at the First Nations trading post just outside of town, or at the music festival that happens in the region in August. She is hoping to attend some of the local pop up malls as a vendor, and to sell some of her crafts either at the First Nations trading post just outside of town, or at the music festival that happens in the region in August. This will be the first time she’s been home with the family all summer since she was 12 years old. She’s been spending the majority of the summer away for the past five years. I’m happy we’re going to have our “big girl” home this summer, though it disappoints me that she didn’t even get an interview for the job she wanted in town 🙁
oh there is something about getting wake up on the other side of the bed that is why your day did not went out as it used to be, lol. Am I getting this one too? another, lol. This site is the place to rant sometimes, that is why online sites and blogging sites had helped a lot of people all the time when it comes to their problems @ruby3881. Remember me posting my personal problems in here? I get used to sharing my problems because I do believe the people that can understand me are those on the other side of the earth or the ones that are online during the time of my rant. Sometimes the people beside you could not help you in anyway as they are dealing with some problems of their own, so you need to find somebody else. I know you are not dealing with this anymore sissy as I talked to you the last time and you were there to even cheer me up.
@ruby3881 Most grammar checkers allow you to select the language. See if you can choose UK English instead of US English. I think you can contact their support team if you cannot find the option. Grammarly is good when you are writing for US audience, but the rest of the world, especially all Commonwealth countries still use UK English.
@grecy095 Yes, it does help to vent here. I love that I have supportive people to talk to here at LB 🙂 @scheng1 I was actually able to switch the UK spelling, but that’s almost as annoying because Canadian English is different from both! We use some UK spellings and some US spellings… The much bigger problem is the app assumes I’m stupid. It is very simplistic, and often can’t tell the difference between different forms or uses of a word. It doesn’t know how to punctuate sentences when an individual’s name is included in a phrase that otherwise needs setting off with a comma. It misses some really glaring spelling mistakes. And it badly misinterprets some sentences altogether. It really also can’t cope with the way people abbreviate writing when speaking casually in a forum like this one. It fusses over missing determiners and other small things of that nature. Sometimes I know they’re missing, but it’s a stylistic choice when speaking colloquially. Other times, the app gets upset when a determiner isn’t even required, tells me I have a subject-verb agreement issue that simply doesn’t exist, or misinterprets a phrase so completely I am not even sure what it’s on about.
@ruby3881 I am glad that your daughter will be with you for the summer. It is a shame that she did not get the job that she wanted. Hope she will be able to sell her arts and crafts at the pop up malls. That sounds like a fun way to spend the summer though.
@morgoodie She’s got some yard work and babysitting to do, and will probably be putting an application in for the grocery store or something similar. Failing that, there’s a ton of agricultural work 🙂 |
