My life is so busy and most of the time, I am so preoccupied. That’s the reason why I need to have a shopping list prior to do the task in the grocery shop. I noticed that forgetfulness became my problem lately. I had adapted this way of doing it when my parents still teach me to be a responsible person at my younger years. It is a matter of being organized. At my workplace, I randomly have this habit in making a checklist. How about you, guys? Do you also do the same thing?

That is the only way one can live an organised life. I not only make lists for shopping but jobs that need to be done – making use of fridge magnets (lol)

I seldom make a shopping list. I already memorized what to buy for myself. That is the advantage of being single hehe. We cannot just laugh or smile here only at My ..t.

@bestwriter I think fridge magnets are so handy in times of buying something in the grocery. We can also put a checklist in monitoring the food being fridge.lol

@cely It is nice to be single, right? Well, I am also single but a person who are so busy in life. I took the responsibility to be the master of the family since the death of my father 2 years ago. I don’t have the choice but to accept my fate in taking good care of my family.

I have a list to and I put it, save it on my phone. When I will buy something, i check my lists but I also buy new things, not on my lists sometimes. When I am doing some lists, I make sure I do it a day before the shopping because I tend to forget it. I have memory problem too that is why I need to check on my list and to do a lists.

@Grecy I had noticed that being forgetful can bring disaster especially if an ingredient was slip into my mind. I religiously take charge in making a shopping list. There is no reason for an argument among the members of the family.

We always use a list. If something is on special, I will note the terms of the sale so we’ll be sure to choose the right item.

i make them especially when shopping at the end of the work day. so easy to forget what you went to the store for at times. busy life!

A shopping list is always helpful, but I don’t always make them. Partially, if I make it, I’m not sure I will remember to take it when I go out shopping. And the other reason is that I try to remember what I need to buy.

Usually, I buy the same things every time, it is rare that I change my routine. And it often happens to me that I forget stuff and then go back to the shop again to buy it.

I am not good at making lists and will just go to the store and buy the things I remember that I need. I am not an organized person outside of work and I always forget to make a list. I might take the store ad with me that I have circled the items I want to buy but other than that I just wing it. I am sure this is not the best way but it is the way I do  it.

@ruby3881 I like that idea. I have the habit of looking for items that are on big discount. It is also good to be practical.

@morgoodie Well, I also do the same thing if it happens that I dropped in the grocery. It is unplanned shopping spree for myself. It is like finding time for myself by having groceries without the shopping list.

honestly, I try to make it a habit to make a list of items of food I need to buy before grocery shopping.

You know, one might have a bad habit to see something that he likes, without thinking twice, dump it into the troli, even though it is not in the list.

Hence, the bill goes up monthly without realizing it.

Our grocery bill is around $70-$100 per trip.

Sometimes 1 a week, sometimes 1 a month.

Listing out the grocery items help me to save more money because you know that all those not compulsory items are not in the troli.

@peachpurple I have also a habit of knowing which grocery store offer cheaper prices in items. I don’t want to overspend money if the goods are not practical to avail. Hence, it is still a good habit to have some options in the shopping list. Sometimes if we don’t have shopping list at hand, we can’t anticipate how much will be the total cost of the goods.

that is true.

With the list in hand, you can know approximately you had spend how much per trip.

Otherwise, you had to use credit cards for huge amount.

Sometimes, it was embarrassing when the grocery bills turned out more than you had expected and you don’t have enough cash in hand.

Had to deduct the goods to pay for the sufficient amount.

Been there a few times, really embarrassing.
