| CONOR McGregor refused to accept full responsibility over his Bellator ring invasion, which reportedly saw him pulled from the UFC 219 card. McGregor issued an apology on Tuesday (AEDT), but continued to throw shade at mixed martial arts referee Marc Goddard — the official who tried to kick him out of the Bellator cage when all hell broke loose during Charlie Ward’s first round TKO of John Redmond in Dublin. Video of McGregor storming the ring under the assumption the fight had been stopped late in the first round when Ward rocked Redmond with a blow that sent the Irishman crashing to the canvas shows McGregor appearing to shove Goddard in the back before he later also lashed out at another Bellator official, in an act that has been widely reported as a punch. McGregor admitted he was out of line when he posted an apology on his Instagram account, however, ‘The Notorious’ also continued to criticise Goddard’s ability to control the fight. Goddard responded one hour after McGregor’s post with an extensive response in which he detailed his version of events.
