I have seen many big land animals. Although elephant is the biggest land animal but i have not seen it. The biggest land animal i have seen is the cow. The time i saw it first was when i was returning from journey. It was feeding on grass some kilometres from my home.

The cow is so big that the height reaches about 3.7 meters. It is a huge animal also. It makes a loud noise which is capable of scaring some other animals away. It has a big head, two pointed horns, two broad ears, nose and the eyes are very large.

The animal uses its long tail to keep away flies from its body. It eats a lot of grass. The cow is capable of drinking over ten gallons of water daily and it can swim. In movement, it runs fast without minding the fat or huge body especially when it is offended.

When one suddenly sees this animal, he will not fail to run. I learnt from the person looking after it that it does not pursue some one if it is notoffended. I learnt also that it delivers a young one called calf once in every one and half years. The cow is so big but it only deliver at time.

When i was watching the cow feed, i remembered when my master told us that we get good meat called beef from the cow. I remembered also that hides can be got from the skin. The hides is for making leather from which shoes are made.

The cow is important to man because from the body we get many useful things which i have mentioned above inluding milk and bones.
