The country of Thailand is well-known for its floating markets. Some of my friends had visited this place and enjoyed the adventure of doing new things. The people like to go to Amphawa Floating Market. It is not just a floating marketplace. You can also eat here and the resident houses beside the river were made into shops and restaurants. I am looking forward to try this soon and visit the place. How about your country? What is well-known for?

http://172.104.9.193/members/shavkat/ yes I had heard of the floating market and also the market on the railway track, awesome! Saw the documentary on TV, very unique way to sell food and earn a living to the worst scenario. My country is well known for the Petronas Twin tower, that’s all. Nothing much particular. I had never been the tower either. Had to pay the pricey entrance fee, would rather watch the documentary at home.

@shavkat Shame that I missed this during our holiday in Bangkok. In Srinigar, Kashmir there are houseboats floating on the Dal lake where they have these markets. I have seen them when I was there.
@peachpurple If the pricey entrance will costs an arm and a leg. I would appreciate taking photos from afar. I could also do appreciation in watching a documentary or read something about it. It is nice to know things that are not common in our state. @bestwriter That’s too sad to hear. I hope you will have the chance to visit the place. Some of my friends are still in Thailand and they encouraging me to come. However, it is not possible to have a get away in another country.
@shavkat Most of tours have been package holidays and so we go by what they dole out to us. (lol)
We have in our city floating restaurants : Panagatan in Opol Misamis Oriental 7 minutes ride by car from the city and See Breeze of the same place. They sell all sea foods. Every time we have special visitors, we bring them to any of these very awesome restaurants by the sea.
@bestwriter, That is true, every time I travel a hotel for a stopover and free dining is already part of the package program.
@bestwriter I guess I need to consider that. A package deal for travel is economical. I do hope the travel agency in my city will give an affordable price. My sister and I are planning to have a trip last week of October this year. @cely Wow! I didn’t know that we have like this in our country. However, it is too far. I have an idea that there is like this. I am looking forward to have adventure in Misamis Oriental.
It is more about arrangements that they make starting from getting the visa, booking tickets, and taking care of us while on holiday. There is always a representative that travels with us. And yes. We do get to stay in posh hotels which could prove expensive if we went on our own.
I have been there, but after looking at the river condition, I lost all appetite. The water is so dirty, though they do not stink.
@Shavkat, yes we have and there many of them floating restaurants. When I joined a trip to Dakak, we had our stopover to a very awesome restaurant in the sea. My God we walk above the sea water stepping only hardened rocks and wood,so windy and the food is so expensive. ” Sinugbang Katambak alone of small size, P 350 hahahah, no choice, I bough it. I was so hungry. One 12 oz. coke is P 75 pesos. We all laughed at the high cost, but that was an adventure hard to forget. That restaurant in the sea is found in Dipolog City, our stop over .
@cely How I wish I can also do the same thing. It has been a long time that I haven’t had any travel. I am going to convince my troop to try this kind of adventure. The food you had mentioned costs an arm and leg. I guess it is also worth a try. |
