Compensation on compulsory acquisition in many African countries can be looked at two angles. One is where the aggressor or the superior agent is the State and two is where the nature of the matter involves individuals. When the aggressor is the State, is called compulsory acquisition, when it is compulsory acquisition compensation is either money; grant another piece of land or both. The amount of compensation has to be commensurate in full, fair and prompt depending on the value of the property.
