PEEUSH TRIKHA wrote a new post, Goods and Services Tax (GST) bill passed in Indian Rajya Sabha: The key takeaways 8 years, 3 months ago

India is a big country and has many states. Over a period of time, due to many indirect taxes, Octroi, value added taxes(VAT) etc, many Goods and Services were a victim of multiple tax structures and consequent […]

    • Earlier different States had different rates but this method helps manufacturers determine their selling rate and could be uniform. As you have pointed out a lot of ‘paper work’ is reduced.

    • Here is what some of the business tycoons in the country think about the GST bill:

      Rajesh Agarwal, Co-Founder, Micromax Informatics
We welcome the clearance of GST Bill in the Upper House and would like to congratulate the Government and the Opposition for constructively working hard towards building the consensus on the same for greater good of India.

This is a historic landmark in the country’s taxation history as it makes the country one unified market and will bring uniformity to the structure. While we understand the nitty-gritties of the GST Bill, it is too early for us to discuss the real impact on the mobile ecosystem but it will definitely make the tax structure more transparent and less complex.

We hope that the government will work together with the industries to create a strong draft of the bill. The passage of the Goods and Services Tax (GST) Bill in the Rajya Sabha is a progressive measure as it can facilitate seamless movement of goods across inter-state borders enabling better efficiency and spurring growth of the (eCommerce) sector.

However, like every regulation, it needs to be implemented correctly, and should not make lives of eCommerce players even more complicated by burdening them with more administrative hassles

Historic moment for Indian economy- common Goods and Services Tax (GST) passed in Rajya Sabha.
Its needs to be passed in BJP and NDA dominated Lok Sabha and ratified by half of all states- which will be much easier than getting it passed in Congress and other parties’ dominated Rajya Sabha.

PEEUSH TRIKHA wrote a new post, Cine Watch Memories: 2014 Sonam Kapoor starrer Khoobsurat 8 years, 4 months ago

Bollywood’s increasing preference for light weight quick movies
If we rewind to mid and late 1980s and up to 1996/97, Bollywood movies were first multi-starrer movies with preference for action movies, thrillers […]

    • Khoobsurat is, in essence, a romantic comedy and is one that works even without the Disney banner. What that name lends to the film is assisting the audience in their suspension of disbelief and making the larger than life characters seem believable.

Yes, the film is predictable, and recycles well known rom com and fairytale tropes, but the packaging is in such shiny and colourful paper that one is enthusiastic to unwrap it and see what lies in store. The result is a film that is surprisingly layered and feel-good in every sense of the word.

At one point during the film Sonam’s Milli tells Fawad’s Vikram that he does not look like a prince at all. That is the first point (of many) during the film where the viewers question her sanity.

Fawad is the spoonful of sugar that makes the slightly bitter Milli medicine go down, in an utterly delightful way. Regal, lethally charming, debonair and every other variation of tall-dark-and-handsome that you can think of, Fawad’s Prince Viku is the knight in shining armour of every girl’s dreams, and he doesn’t look half bad with the armour off too.

Bollywood is going to want to keep this one, because he puts all their Ranveers and Ranbirs to shame, but sorry guys – this one’s ours. Find another Khan to take over Shahrukh, Aamir and Salman’s throne, but good luck finding one that sits it so well, and so naturally.

PEEUSH TRIKHA wrote a new post, Why Healthy Foods become even more important in rainy seasons 8 years, 4 months ago

When the rains come after a long spell of tough heat, we feel elated to feel relieved from heat and humidity and the farmers and many others too feel good that they will have more water overall for many water […]

    • In rainy season all over the world heavy food needs human body due to more coolness in body and to cool down the internal coldness heat is must that we can take from healthy foods as meat, chicken gravy…we must use it.

We are so good to welcome the monsoon showers after experiencing the scorching summer heat. But monsoons do bring certain health risks. Our body is more susceptible to health issues in rainy season, because monsoon reduces the immunity power of our body. Our body constantly gets affected with allergies, infections, indigestion problems, so we must keep our body resistant against such diseases.

The humidity in the atmosphere is usually high in this season; as a result the body’s digestive capability goes down. The important point to keep in mind is that you must avoid oily food, street food or any type of food that is prepared in bulk else there is a possibility that it upsets your stomach.

I think talking healthy foods in rainy season we can get these benefits as:

Eat fruits as they help you restore energy. Apples, mangoes, pomegranates, and pears are best suggestible. Avoid watermelon and muskmelons and also goosing on too many mangoes may cause pimples.

Have medium to low salt food and avoid heavy salty food as they are responsible for high blood pressure and water retention.

Eating watery foods like lassi, watermelon, rice, muskmelon creates swelling in the body. So, better opt for foods which are drying in nature like corn, gram flour, chick pea etc.

Foods such as brown rice, oats, and barley are the best foods one could have in this monsoon.

Body’s immunity can be increased by adding a dash of garlic to the soups, sir fries and curries you intake.

Opt for yogurt, curd and almonds in your diet instead of milk. Drink only boiled and purified water to protect yourself from harmful germs and drinking plenty of water keeps your body hydrated.

    • Rainy season brings pleasure and happiness with the drops falling from heaven. The season that attempts bringing a cool climate is always commendable. But with very relaxing ambiance, you can also be affected with many different diseases.

Thus, you need to be really cautious about the food you are consuming. Physicians and experts from the medical field would always ask you to stay away from the street foods. Go for very healthy food items such as soups, boiled vegetables, multi-grain bread etc. During monsoon since you get a cool climate, there will be a tendency to drink tea or coffee randomly. Along with tea, you also must be longing for some fried items.

    • It’s better to go for dry food during the rainy season than that of wet as fungal infection and bacteria can grow pretty fast in the wet food items.

You can consume food such as oats, chickpea, corn etc during monsoons to keep yourself healthy and sound throughout the season. The watery meals are really prone to cause bloating among many people.

Try not to have sea foods like fish, prawns, crabs etc until and unless they are fresh. As it is the breeding season for these creatures you may end up having stomach infections or worse food poisoning. It is always good to choose for vegetarian diet during the rainy season.
