    • Yeah, actually almost all even children know this matter, however, one does not know how to take the effects seriously. Sometimes, or most of the time I should say, people don’t mind what is happening around them, and so even simple cleanliness of their own surroundings does not matter to them.

Yes, we could say that Government should do something about it, but, we as an individual should also do our part. That is why we are always reading like this things to remind ourselves of what we know but are not being seriously taken into consideration.

    • Thank you for research and sharing your findings with us. Indeed air pollution has gotten worse over the decades.
At least once per year in my country in the capital city, the garbage dump site is set ablaze. Some say it is done manually, others say it was ignited naturally by the waste that has been dumped there. Each year the fire gets larger and larger, the smoke clouds gets darker and darker, and the span of the smoke clouds get wider and wider, and the effects and even more grave. More people get sick and more businesses and schools have to be closed due to the effects of the smoke. There have been talks over and over to get things done but so far the process is moving like a snail. Hopefully some resolve will soon be metted out.

Cassy Janine wrote a new post, ORGANIC CLOTHING AS AN ENVIRONMENT FRIENDLY CHOICE 7 years, 9 months ago

When shopping for a new pair of pants or a t-shirt, you probably don’t wonder about the fabrics used to make them. Well, it’s probably time to do so because your clothes and what’s in them- could have a negat […]

    • One problem arising out of the use of organic clothing involves in their maintenance. They need regular and prompt washing and proper ironing. Otherwise, they look very shabby. Even silk also can be worn at the most for a day or two but not more than that.
But, the non-organic clothing needs less attention as far as their maintenance is concerned.
The organing clothing like linen, silk, cotton, Handloom etc., no doubt richly contribute to the environmental protection. They also protect the body from excess heat and excess cold.

    • ABSOLUTELY YO HAVE THE POINT THERE SIR. I ALSO ADD THAT WHEN IT COMES TO PRACTICALITY, THE NON-ORGANIC CLOTHING IS MORE CHEAPER AND AFFORDABLE COMPARED TO THE ORGANIC CLOTHINGS.
HOWEVER, IF ONE DOESN’T HAVE ANY PROBLEM WITH FINANCIAL, IT IS BETTER THAN GOOD TO GO WITH ORGANIC CLOTHES.

    • Regardless of whether one is concerned or not about this planet and its environment, there are countless benefits to wearing organic clothing. It’s likely the majority of individuals who wear organic clothing, aren’t even aware of it. The one’s who do wear sustainable clothing, are aware, and are consciously making the effort to better the planet with their actions. Hopefully by the end of this article you’ll be inspired to consciously choose your outfit material, and want to rework your entire wardrobe with organic clothing.

Throughout history, companies continually discover innovative ways of making clothing out of new materials and fabrics. With Eco-Fashion coming into mainstream, designers have become more original and are coming out with superb ideas and cool designs made out of organic clothing. The apparel industry has been showcasing a plethora of fashionable garments that the wearer is excited to try.

    • When it comes too organic clothing, the most popular materials include cotton, hemp, soy, bamboo, silk, and wool. As you might already know, cotton is the much-preferred fabric throughout the world, and is versatile in the manufacturing of different types of clothes. However, conventional cotton farming is hazardous, as it needs nearly 10% of the world’s pesticide supply and about 25% of insecticide reserves. That being said, cotton farmers must now adhere to strict guidelines prohibiting pesticides and chemical fertilizers. With this process, organic cotton offers one of the most soft, breathable and luxurious clothing to the wearer’s skin, especially for infants.

Hemp, another material used in the manufacture of quality organic garments, requires no herbicides for its cultivation as it has natural resistance to pests, fungus and insects. A pound of hemp fiber uses a fraction of the water needed to grow a pound of cotton, which is naturally resistant to most pests and diseases. When compared to cotton, hemp can offer 8 times the tensile strength and 4 times the durability.

Have you tried using the virgin coconut oil? Did you know that  VCO or organic virgin coconut oil can cure acne with its lauric acid content? Well, this is just one of the many benefits of using organic products […]

    • In India, everything was organic in the beginning. But, the technology based Agriculture introduced in India, has totally spoiled not only the health of the people but also their minds. ICAR has to be blamed for continuously giving a wide publicity to the artificial and chemical fertilizers, pesticides blown methods etc., which has virtually spoiled the Agriculture in India. Added to this the denial of minimum support price to the farmers was always there in his grievances. It was never attended to with sincerity by any Governments.
Even now, the Governments are not realizing the importance of the organic nature of products. They are openly delivering the Diary milk and other products though knowing pretty well it is all made of an artificial milk powder. Still, they are following mixing of powder milk liberally to the regular quantity, which in no way will improve the health of the public. It is adding only to the quantity but not the quality of the milk. They are showing this in their budget estimates as the development made by spending crores of rupees annually. Shouldn’t we laugh at these policy makers?

      • THANKS FOR SHARING YOUR INSIGHTS REGARDING THIS MATTER. YES BECAUSE OF FAST UPGRADING OF TECHNOLOGIES USED IN FARMING, ORGANIC GARDENING IS REALLY AFFECTED. FARMERS ARE ONLY CONCERNED WITH HOW MUCH THEY PRODUCED AND NOT HOW HEALTHY THEIR PRODUCTS ARE. THAT IS THE SAME AS WITH THE GOVERNMENT, THEY ONLY THINK OF THE INCOME THAT THEY MIGHT GET.

    • A great wealth of information. Our food in the States tends to have too much chemicals. Organic is the way to go. It is healthy and yes, it helps avoid sicknesses. Sometimes, people complain that organic food is expensive but my response to that is that there is no price for health. Sometimes, it pays to protect your health, avoid sicknesses and a mountain of medical bills. A small investment indeed.

    • In Africa our people were using crop rotation system of farming in the olden days before the introduction of fertilizers. in those days our people know how to manage their farm and get bamper harvest and healthy foods stocks. Since the introduction of Fertilizer and other chemicalized form of farming, the farms are no more producing as it was in the olden days.
i don’t believe in organic farming as it is another way of exploiting our farmers for the benefit of a few as fertilizers did. Now we are been told Fertilizers are not good for the environment, did they not know this when they introduce fertilizers into our farming systems. because they have now gotten the profit they want from fertilizers, they are now introducing organic method and are saying fertilizers are not good. all chemicalize foods are not good if not natural.

    • I AGREE WITH YOU SIR CALEB, THE MORE HEALTHIER WE ARE, THE LESS MEDICAL BILLS WE HAVE.
IF WE MAINTAIN A HEALTHY LIFESTYLE, WE CAN AVOID BACK AND THROUGH TO THE HOSPITAL.
AS YOU SAID, IT IS FAR BETTER TO PAY EXPENSIVE ORGANIC FOODS BECAUSE ITS FOR THE BENEFIT OF OUR BODY.

    • I hope we can also have organic farms here in our place. Although in Tagaytay they have lots of organic farms.

And yesterday at Salamat Dok, Sonia’s farm in Tagaytay demonstrated how to make a salad made of edible flowers like a variety of edible rose and the hyacinth or gumamela.

I was amazed that we have edible rose petals in Tagaytay. I wonder how they taste as a salad. I love vegetable salad.

    • There are organic farms here in Benguet, actually. Benguet State University is implementing organic farming and hopefully, they will maintain it.

However, nonorganic farming is very common. Farmers here in our place usually use pesticides and chemicals that are not organic.

Although the vegetable products have good qualities that are good for exports but are not safe for our health unless one will wash it properly before cooking.

One for us to remove the chemicals or pesticides from the vegetables is to soak it with lukewarm water with salt.

According to the Centre for Science and The Environment, washing vegetables and even fruits with 2% of salt water will remove most of the contact pesticide residues normally found on the
      surface of fruits and vegetables.

Fruits and vegetables have hidden curative powers that can benefit the body. I would rather drink this than a regular milkshake at a fast food store. I am going to try to post this in my Facebook account to share with others. Thank you for writing a great article.

    • Thank you for the complement. Anyways, sir, you are right about how beneficial fruits and vegetables are to our body.

Vegetables and fruits are an important part of a healthy diet, and variety is as important as quantity.

Regarding coconuts and coconut milk have traditionally gotten a bad rap due to its high saturated fat levels. However, island populations around the world have used the fruit’s meat juice, milk and oil in everything from cooking to disease prevention. Furthermore, the unique fatty acids in coconut milk may aid weight loss, improve immune function, reduce heart disease risk and improve skin and hair health.
      Weight Loss

This research has revealed that not eating enough fat can actually make you fat. According to Bruce Fife, N.D. in his article “The Fat that Can Make You Thin,” people who include more healthy fats in their diet, such as the medium-chain triglycerides in coconut milk, eat less than those who don’t get enough fat. While all fats help the body feel full and satiate the brain receptors that control appetite, the fat in coconut milk may increase metabolism and perhaps increase weight loss on a reduced-calorie diet.

      Immune System Health

Coconut milk contains lauric acid, antimicrobial lipids and capric acid, which have antibacterial, antifungal and antiviral properties. The body converts lauric acid into monolaurin, which may fight the viruses and bacteria that cause herpes, influenza and even HIV. According to a study led by Dr. Gilda Sapphire Erguiza, a pediatric pulmonologist at the Philippine Children’s Medical Center in Quezon City, children with pneumonia who were treated with antibiotics and coconut oil benefited more than those taking the antibiotic alone.

The medium-chain saturated fatty acids in coconut milk may also improve heart health. A study in “Asia Pacific Journal of Clinical Nutrition” showed that Filipino women who ate more coconut oil had healthier blood lipid profiles, a major determinant of heart disease. The medium-chain fatty acids in coconut milk may also kill the three major types of atherogenic organisms — bacteria that cause plaque formation in the arteries — that may lead to heart disease.
      Healthy Skin and Hair

Coconut milk is highly nutritious when ingested, and these nutrients may help fortify and condition skin and hair as well. The fatty acids in coconut milk are a natural antiseptic and may help treat dandruff, skin infections, wounds and dry, itchy skin. Furthermore, the high fatty acid content in coconut milk serves as a natural moisturizer for healthy skin and may help repair wrinkles and sagging in aging skin.

Teachers are likened to be superheroes. They work fast. They remain strong amidst problems, powerful in overcoming challenges, and most of all, their ability to change the lives of their students for the better […]

    • A teacher is undoubtedly a superhero. Whether he works in India, Philippines, or any other nation, he plays an important role in molding the character of a student and make him a dutiful, responsible, and cultured citizen of the society. In India, the education system is somewhat developed more with the active support and importance are given to it by the Government.
It is not only the Government but also many NonGovernmental Organizations which are taking an active part in developing a planned Education system.

Starting from U.KG, L.K.G there are various types of schools that have been introduced. There are vocational training schools which impart education in the vocational courses also. Besides this, there are Vedic School which are meant exclusively for learning Vedas and other Religious books on various subjects.
The most interesting thing is that some schools do lack facilities. Some schools lack qualified teachers. Each Union approaches the Government with certain demands including relaxation in the qualification for the appointment of teachers. This is here the system suffers a lot. There are many schools which are lacking qualified teachers and the qualified are not preferring to work in Government run Schools. Either they start their own schools or prefer to work in private school as they get more job satisfaction.
The Governments are still unable to form a good and uniform policy to provide good teachers to the educational institutions. The political parties and Judiciary are being approached time and again undoing the developmental programs or schemes/methods introduced in the education system.

    • I think teachers for special children are trained before they are to teach these kind of students. After the training, I think they need to pass the qualifying exams too.
That’s because these kind of students are easy to handle. Some have short lived temper. They should know how to handle a special child having a tantrum. Also when the special child has very short attention to what is being taught.
It is also a need hat they should be given the teaching tools necessary in teaching children with special needs.
Most of all , they should be give a higher salary, because they are in for a difficut way of teaching.

    • If the students refused to learn and when their results are bad, the teachers are to be blamed most of the time. Parents will come and search for the teachers and blame them. They never look into the mirror and the problems of their own children. A lot of teachers had done their best in their work, unfortunately, if the children refused to study, who can help them?

Fried chicken, bacon, hotdog, French fries-these are just some of the food cooked by frying that most of you like to indulge in. However, did you know that despite being delicious and smelling good, fried food […]

    • Cooking vegetables using Oil is an important part of cooking. The vegetables are generally fried for taste. Sometimes people prefer deep frying. Frying vegetables is not good for health as many of the nutrients in the vegetables and other food items will become less effective and instead of doing good they do harm. This is nothing but purchasing unhealthy by spending money. If the vegetables or food items are not cooked using frying methods the loss of nutrients will be very much less. Hence, the cooking procedure suitable for the preparation should be adopted.
The refined oil is meant for frying the items as the loss of nutrients while frying will be lessened using this oil.
Refined oils will be very different in their properties.
      They will have less weight
      They will have less density
The fat content in the Oils will be less when compared to Ordinary oil
The calories will also be very less.
The oil will be quite free from other impurities.

It is these properties which make them more preferable by the people than ordinary oil. The health problems like stroke, High Blood Pressure, Diabetes can be kept at a distance by using Refined oils.

There are many different refined oils like Groundnut oil, Palmolive Oil, Avocado Oil, Virgin oil, Canola Oil, Coconut Oil.

One should always remember that any food vegetable or non-vegetable will lose its nutrients whenever it is heated. The loss of nutrients will be directly proportional to the degree of heating. This loss of nutrients will be different for different refined oils. This loss of nutrients will be very less when one uses refined Palmolive Oil. Therefore, many people suggest and prefer Palmolive Refined Oil than using other refined oils in India.
Usage of Virgin Oil is, of course, is preferred but is confined to only rich and wealthy families in view of its being quite expensive

However, it is best to avoid deep-frying or frying of vegetables or non-vegetables while cooking the food items and it is better they are minimized as low as possible.

    • That’s because olive oil is considered the healthy oil.
So, how do we kow if the olive oil in the market is the refined oil. Does it have a mark like that?
What about virgin olive oil as it is the most that i see in supermakrtes, can using it in frying will have the. same health benefits as the refined oil?
Canola oil is also what is being said as healthy or good for frying. It’s what we use for frying because it’s much cheaper that olive oil.
