@grecy095 Good that you have got some payment lately. Hope you will get more, but remember to have good rest as well, as I think your daily job requires a lot of effort from you too. @lolaze Hope the new therapy really works for you. Glad to hear that babysitting will pay will well, so hopefully you will get enough to pay for the therapy monthly. @swalia I think that happens in my country as well. Teachers get paid too low, as compared to the jobs in corporate sectors, hence there are always lacking of teachers here. @thinker That’s good! Yes, I agree that we can actually turn every “problem” into an opportunity. In fact, I haven’t been saying “problem” for a few years, I view them as challenges, growing lessons for myself. It’s good that your government supports the startups. It’d be good if you have some friends who are supportive or know well in this area too. I have quit my office job more than 5 years ago, and started my freelance business. It’s because I wanted to take care of my children. I was glad that I have met an ex-colleague who was supportive and also wanted to start his own freelance business, so we worked it out together. Good luck to you! I always believe, there is a will, there is a way.

@nakitakona13 I think it’s good that you brought up the concern too, so it makes us clearer to know whether we are okay to discuss the rates here. I think it’s always good to ask, and find out more, I guess that’s why the discussions are here. π I have not really submitted many posts, but usually posts over 500+ words (500-700), and that’s 22 cents. The only post I wrote which is about 1400 words is 35 cents. I am not so sure about the rest, I am always trying to write more than 500 words, as it allows me to earn slightly more, and also it’s a little challenge for myself. I guess we have a clearer picture on the pay rate per posts now, but waiting for @scheng1 to find out her long articles, then we will get to know more. π |

I usually only submit only one or two blog posts per day, and every time they are published together at a certain time, together with other new posts as well. So, I suppose they are published in a bulk every day. @swalia Yes, I think it’s good that we at least read a few blog posts per day, besides appreciating the effort of the blogger, I think it’s good for the site as well. I am planning to spending more time reading the blog posts later, as I might not have time to write, but I should have a little bit time to read. π |

@support Now I understand about the edit button better. No wonder sometimes I see the edit button, but sometimes don’t. I didn’t know we add the time limit functionality to the edit button. It’s interesting! π Thanks for such a detailed explanation, I think with good quality of the posts will benefit all of us too. Thank you for all the efforts the team has put into the site. We really appreciate that. I guess all of us are excited to know the upcoming features! π |

From what I have observed, there is a range for words for the pay rate. Perhaps less than 500 words will be 15 cents, 500 – 800 words will be 22 cents, 800 – 1000++ will be 35 cents. I do not know exactly what the range is, as I usually post 500++ word posts, and I get the same earnings for different topics. Of course, it might depends on my writing skill as well. :p @scheng1 It’s good to know how much you will earn for such long articles. Do remember to update us on those two, perhaps tomorrow. π I haven’t read any warnings from support or admin that we are not supposed to discuss about our earnings or pay rate here, though we are told our earnings are based on quality and quantity of the posts. I just think this might encourage and help each other to write or earn better. We do not spam or encourage others to just write some poor lengthy articles in order to earn more. With these discussions going on the forums, I can see these actually encourage more members to write more blog posts too, so I do not know this is bad for the site. Also, since the blog posts will be reviewed by the moderators, I believe we will always have good quality posts. I personally prefer more transparency, especially when it’s to encourage and help each other, and it’s helping the site too. I believe @support will let us know if these topics shouldn’t be discussed, since he has been watching our forums and quite responsive too. π |

I usually leave it there, but when I find it disturbing me from reading some contents, then I will just close it. Unless I am interested in the ad, otherwise I do not click on it, though I know it might be better to generate ad revenue for the site. @scheng1 I am not sure why LiteracyBase prefers to use infolinks, but not together with Adsense. I have read that it takes longer time to get approval from Adsense, especially when the site is stillΒ new. So, perhaps LiteracyBase needs to take some time in order to get the approval. At the moment, perhaps infolinks is the better choice to generate ad revenue.

@morgoodie Yes, I agree with you, just keep sharing and we might just get a referral signup one day. I am also happy with what I am doing now, that’s good for me. π @rapidblue I get some referring visits from sharing posts in social media sites, but so far I have not get any referrals yet. @datepuhe Welcome to the site. It’s good that you get some referring visitors too. You can also share any blog posts (even not written by you) and forum threads, and add your referral code to it in social media sites or forums, then it might help you to gain more referring visits too. I am not sure whether only valid visit is counted, I just think when we share the posts in LB, we will drive more traffics to the site, which will help the site to earn more ad revenue. @scheng1 Yes, I think that too. I guess every new site needs some time to establish and build up the reputation. Hope this site will be good for us. |

@swalia You are welcome. I was just happy to find out this opportunity, as I just started to have more interest in learning to blog. But, I just couldn’t catch up with them as I am also listening to other inspirational interviews and working with other stuffs too. But at least I have copied down the topics, and I will try to find out more about blogging and social media sharing. There are just so much to learn, but it’s definitely interesting! π |

@haraka I am not good with scissors either, I did cut my fingers accidentally, but perhaps I am just too lazy to go to saloon. π It’s good that you have an aunt who went to hair styling school, so she can always help you with your hair. Is she a hairdresser now? Does she still do your hair for you? @rapidblue My husband doesn’t mind to let me cut his hair, as he said, if it’s really very bad, he’d just shave all off, it doesn’t really matter. So, this gave me confidence to try out with his hair. Glad that no one else has complained about it and he has not needed to shave all off. π It’s good to have your spouse cut your hair for you too! @peachpurple Sometimes I think when we do too much DIY at home, children will learn that too. My son cut my little girl’s hair when she was a toddler too. Glad that they didn’t hurt themselves with the scissors. But, it’s a big shock for other people. π It’s good that you cut your own hair too. It’s quite fun, isn’t it? I cut my hair when I take a shower too. I just think it’s so convenient to do it ourselves. Since mine is short hair, so it’s even easier. @icybc Yes, I agree with you. Perhaps I do not really have a hairdresser that I am happy with, so I think cutting my own hair is a better choice. Moreover, I do not need a stylish hair, I just want it to be simple. Do you mean having a haircut in your country cost hundreds of dollars? Just to trim the hair? |

@morgoodie Yes, I agree with you. A car is just a transportation. π My husband and I talked about this. Even though if we are rich one day, we will still continue our current lifestyle – simple and frugal life, as we are contented with our life now, though we might not have enough sometimes, we are grateful for having all the necessities. At least we have a shelter and a car to bring us around, and we are never hungry. @ruby3881 I always respect one’s personality or temperament. If a kid is shy, I would just let him be and not force him to try to socialize with others. He can do it whenever he wants. I guess this is one of the reasons I like about Waldorf education, because it respects the child and his temperament as well. Of course, I think some other educational approaches do that as well, but in public or public school, this might not be respected. I just remember this boy we met in the playground who is the same age as my son. He likes to go to every child and says he is taller than others. I do not know he just wants to state the fact, or compete with others. This is something I found it weird when some adults also like to compare. Some relatives like to comment my kids are thiner and shorter, or my little girl is shy. I think some of these are born to be, why compare with others? As long as they are healthy, I am happy. Moreover, I am actually quite short, why do they expect my children to be very tall? These are something I can’t stand with people comparing/competing sometimes. These are something can’t be improved too. π |

@sunil Sorry, I think I am confused whether you can’t find where the breakdown of earnings is, or you are just unable to keep track of all of them. If you can’t find where it is, this is how you can check it out:
But I wonder where you can see how many articles you have published.

@4cryingoutloud Yes, I agree with you. A secret should never be told. π But those only happened to me when I was in high school and college. Nowadays, it seems like the people around me do not tell “secrets” anymore. What we can tell others are quite open to everyone. I am not sure if this is because we are getting older, and we are trying to keep more to ourselves. |

My answer is No. Though I am not a professional writer, and I do not think this will happen to me, I would prefer to write what I like and feel like writing. In real life, I have been asked to just do something very simple based on my profession, and I would get a good commission, but I did not take it because I don’t feel it’s right to do so, though it’s not illegal or wrong at all. I just do not feel comfortable doing something I don’t like at all. |

@rapidblue Thank you for sharing this tool and helping us to analyze our posts as well. It sounds interesting. I would be happy if I can learn how to fix my mistakes and improve my writing too. I am actually quite surprise I can still get grade C, I thought I would get grade D or fail. I will check it out and see how I can make improvements. It’s certainly a good tool for us! It’s always good to learn and improve ourselves. π |

@4cryingoutloud I think I am a person who can keep secrets, if it’s not my secret. π I did not really have any secrets myself, as I was quite open to everyone. But, I did not like to talk about my family, especially the negative side. There was once my parents quarreled, and I was feeling down. I told my best friend in high school about this, and told her not to tell anyone else. That day, my mom went to school and picked me up. (Nothing to do with the quarreling as it was actually a small matter. I had gastric pain, and my mom was worried about me, so she brought me to see the doctor) Some of my good friends in class were wondering what has happened to me, and my best friend told one of the friends about my parents’ quarreling. I was really upset with this, moreover she thinks she should tell as my friends were concern about me. Since then, I tried to keep whatever I think shouldn’t be told to others. When a secret is being told to even one person, it’s not a secret anymore. Of course, that’s not really a big deal, but I learned from the lesson. The only person I really trust now is my husband. He is really good at keeping secrets. π |
