Cooked oats or porridge is a regular breakfast staple in our home. I just can’t be bothered to prepare food for breakfast not to mention that my husband is also in a hurry to get out for work. So not unless it i […]

cessy08 wrote a new post, A Chinese Dish Favorite: Mapo Tofu Recipe 8 years ago

I love anything spicy! I remember back in university when I used to sprinkle all my food options with chili whenever possible. Regardless if the food is soup or as a dip to grilled meat – I’d add chili whenever I […]

    • Yes, I have eaten this at some restaurants in my country with my friends and family. Mapo Tofu can be found in almost any Chinese restaurant around the world with hundreds of variations adapting the piquant original to suit local tastes.

But my friend; mom makes this curry as I tell you very delicious really.
      Ingredients
1/2 cup low sodium chicken broth
2 teaspoons potato starch (halve if using cornstarch)
      2 teaspoons soy sauce
      1 teaspoon sugar
      1 tablespoon sesame oil
2 medium cloves of garlic, minced
      2 teaspoons minced ginger
4 green onions white part only, minced
1 tablespoon fermented black beans, roughly chopped (black bean paste will also work)
1/2 teaspoon Sichuan peppercorns, black seeds removed then ground (optional)
      6 ounces ground pork
2 teaspoons doubanjiang (chili bean paste)
14 ounce block of silken tofu, drained and cut into 3/4” cubes
green part of green onions minced for garnish
      Directions

Add the chicken stock, cornstarch, soy sauce and sugar to a small bowl and stir to combine.
Heat a wok or large frying pan until hot. Add the sesame oil, garlic,
ginger and green onions and stir-fry with a spatula until fragrant. Add the black beans and Sichuan pepper and continue stir-frying.

Add the ground pork and use the spatula to break it up into small grains (you don’t want clumps of meat). When the pork is cooked, add the doubanjiang and stir to distribute.

Add the tofu, and toss to mix (if you stir it, the tofu will lose its shape).

Give the stock mixture a good stir to incorporate anything that may have settled, and then pour it over the pork and tofu. Toss to coat, then boil until the sauce thickens.

Garnished with the green parts of the green onions, then serve with hot rice.

Ever think why all or most of them youths actually think the same way as peers, not on their own agenda an sh*t, “a mean some times you can’t even blame it on parents” with all these media’s and multimedia’s, these kids are all caught growing in a different world or say “the modern day crippled syndrome.” Im truly happy to say that not all youth…[Read more]

Itre wrote a new post, Song: Where is the Love? An Opinion! 8 years ago

One of my all-time favorite songs is “where is the love” by black eyed peas. I love this song because it makes you think about why the world isn’t a peaceful place. Every time I listen to the song, I just can’t […]

    • This is one of my favorites songs by that group. I think it’s the only song of theirs that I really like, for the various reasons you stated in your post. It is a social commentary about how problems in the world could be cured if we had love for one another. Nice post! 🙂

    • It is one of the best song when I read it in lone yea, a nice song exposing the reality of hollow human and d what we say and what we do in real life.
we always say how we want to change the world and i always use the line we never “practice what we preach”. and then we look away towards other things to fill our heart with, things that will in the end back stab us. it will never help us to fall in love with texting, we wont go anywhere in life. we should fill our hearts with something that will change the world. one person at a time.

then we turn our hearts away from those in other countries that do not have what we have and i have done it plenty myself, we discriminate against them call them stupid and we ignore others pain and we live like there never an ended. and then we go and cause more drama.

if we would only look towards the hurt for a couple minutes every day it could make the difference of a life.

so basically it is a prayer that we will realize what we are doing to make others suffer. and its asking why do we do the things we do. why are people so hurtful. we all need to just look to God to show us the right path. I am praying for you as well as every other person in the world. God Bless you:)
