I think that no matter how good a person is, the in laws will always be in conflict with us because we grew up differently and have different beliefs.
I also had a more peaceful life when my family was living a bit far from them. Although we still lived in one of their properties, a few blocks away, I dont get to have “surprise visits”. B…[Read more]

@peachpurple No, my husband has a brother that is three years older than him. But yes, my in-laws are very humble and kind. They claim my children as their grandchildren and are much better to them than their own grandparents ever were.
My MIL is the sweetest little lady. She teaches kindergarten students at a Christian school that is right up…[Read more]

all of you are great moms!
It is not easy being a 24/7 mom around the clock.
being a first time parent, we all learned through hardship, trials and mistakes in order to improve our parenting skills.
Each of us has different parenting style, there isn’t any rules that says whose is right or…[Read more]

@peachpurple Sorry to say that, but I think it’s good that your mother in law decided to leave on her own, it’d be better for your relationship as well. It’s not easy to stay under the same roof.
Though I love both my mom and mom in law, I do not think I can really stay with them for long term. Both my husband and I like to do what we love, but…[Read more]

@peachpurple I don’t think drinking a cold beverage has ever brought on or exacerbated my cramps, but I can say that if I catch a chill they will get worse. They are also worse if I’m not getting enough liquids.
I recommend staying well hydrated. If you are feeling like plain water isn’t doing the trick, you might try a sports drink. Be careful…[Read more]

good to hear that your 3rd sets of in laws are cool parents to you. It is difficult to encounter kind inlaws these days. By the way, they looked very humble and loving in the picture. your hubby is the only son?

@peachpurple is right. You have to talk to them to each of them individually. And this will touch them and will be in your life. Try it.

did they know that you were in the hospital for the last 3 days?
If you had posted on FB, they may not know about it.
If you had called them and they had already been notified verbally, then that is just way too much !
They should at least text you or drop by to see you.
Otherwise, are your relationship with your family members not that…[Read more]

@peachpurple When I was a teenager I had severe cramps every month. I would lay on the bed with my knees in my stomach an cry and would pour the blood with clots coming out. My grandmother told my mother she used to do the same thing and the doctor told her to place a hot water bottle or heating pad on the stomach. The heat will help break down…[Read more]

I think illnesses like HIV and cancer could have been cured by now if the drug companies wanted them to be. They make too much money off of them though so they keep making drugs that treat some of the disease but doesn’t cure it or cure all of it so they still make money.

@Rapid Blue my wife was working as a lecturer before our marriage decades before but I forced her to quit her job and in my views she is not jobless. She is perhaps earning more than me by way of supporting me and my only child. I am grateful to her for quieting her job for me and her family.

@peachpurple yes you are right when you said that we will alwaysd be our dad’s little girl. I guess, I just get too emotional everytime I think of him.

I think I am a good mom, though I know I am not good enough, I am still learning to be a more mindful, joyful and gentle mom. I never spank or hit my children, but I have to confess that I do get angry with them and scold them sometimes, especially when I am overwhelmed or too sick. So, this is something I really need to learn.
I quit my job…[Read more]
