Definitely one of my favorite books and by far the one that I have read the most would be “Good Omens: The Nice and Accurate Prophecies of Agnes Nutter, Witch.” This fictional novel was published in 1990 by English authors Terry Pratchett and Neil Gaiman. It would be classified as comedy/fantasy.

The basis about this book involves 2 main characters which are an angel and demon dealing with the end times and the coming of the Apocalypse. It also involves a child who is the antichrist and a mix up of who the main characters involved think is the antichrist. The book borrows much from the religious theme but is done very well and if you can take this subject with humor, you will find yourself laughing out load throughout!

The first part of what makes the book unique to myself is that is was written by two authors that had not previously worked together. They would send the transcript back and forth and discuss ideas on the phone before getting back to writing what they wanted to independently. Both authors have many successful books on there own and have different styles, but they have come well together in making this unique work!

The book is based in England and has many mentions and jokes that if you are from there or familiar with the area, especially London, will get a lot more laughs from it. Also so much of the humor depends on this that the book will likely only be ever published in English unfortunately.

One of my favorite things is the very subtle humor and related jokes that you do not catch on the first reading… Elvis even makes an appearance… the former British monetary system in all its complexities is admired as well… I traveled for years with a paperback of “Good Omens” in my backpack, beat up and with dog eared pages for reference before passing it on to someone else and now days replacing on my Kindle.

I would highly recommend the book! Hope you enjoy!
