Sri Sailam is a great pilgrimage center in the state of Andhra Pradesh. The Deity here is the Lord Sri Mallikarjuna Swamy. This is the oldest temple and a reference point mentioned in all Vedic chants and hymns.

During my stay I noticed  many people selling herbs on the road-side in Polythene bags. They spread the herbs obtained from the Nallamala Forest and sell them. Different people from other places come and purchase these herbs. I am not wrong if I say that they are not Ayurvedic Doctors who purchase these herbs. When inquired I came to know that these people read some  Ayurvedic books and note down the names of herbs. When they visit Sri Sailam they purchase them. I really wondered how can these people purchase such herbs without any proper knowledge of their usage and make experiments over their bodies? Even the sellers are also not qualified to sell those herbs. They always will be at giving end from morning to evening making a roaring business. They are all Tribals living in and around Sri Sailam.

Don’t you think that it is very harmful to use such herbs ?
