God is always expressing self through works, and creation continues to live and exist in God. Worldwide conflicts may turn as black quickly from our dreams into a reality which is not very pretty. Creation was God’s way of expressing the Godself. God calls whom he wants and gives to one person what he does not give to another. God gives more so that we produce more and so that everyone may benefit from it, but God gives definitely what he wants.

In our own day, economic necessity forces so many immigrants to leave their country without knowing where to go or how their lives will be affected. God is testing us, he knocks on our hearts to see what the echo will be: will we be able to let go of our own wisdom and enter into his plans. On account of sin, every person is born and lives as if he or she were in a foreign land. Our own reality is hidden from us as long as we are not rooted in God and in communion with him. Our religions and ideologies, products of our culture, do not permit us to go beyond the limits of a world we make to suit ourselves. To become aware of our vocation we need God’s call and we need to be willing to get out of this vicious circle. Faith will never occur without separation which is why God foresaw it in each one’s life: leaving our parent’s house, beginning to work, getting married. Faith prepares us to face even more painful separations that will place us entirely at the service of God. As believers, we can never think that we have arrived. Until the end of our lives, we are pilgrims, drawn by an ideal never quite reached and always attentive to God’s signs to see where God is waiting for us. God is patient.

Those whom God calls are never isolated because they always meet other friends of God. God loves all women and men, and wants to save all even when they do not know him. If you remain conscious that God calls you to be a free person and one who free others, he will give you the opportunity to do it. When God makes us his friends he gives us responsibility for the world. Just as with friendship between people, friendship with God means sharing everything.

God saves his best gifts for those who remain faithful during times when he takes all hope away from them. We know without doubt that God approves our dedication to a particular task if on some occasion we have shown that we are willing to let go even of that task, if God wills it so. God guides those who seek to do his will, above all when they choose to marry; he will enable them to meet the person best suited to help them realize this desire. How many lost opportunities in our own life: stupid things in life have bewitched us and caused us to miss what alone is worth keeping.

In God We TrustGod is Patient and Pennies are Plentiful
March 7, 2018
A few months ago, my husband and I were invited to spend the weekend at his employer’s home. I was nervous about the weekend. The boss was very wealthy, with a fine home on the waterway, and cars costing more than our house. The first day and evening went well, and I was delighted to have this rare glimpse into how the very wealthy live.

My husband’s employer was quite generous as a host and took us to the finest restaurants. I knew I would never have the opportunity to indulge in this kind of extravagance again, so I was enjoying myself. As the three of us were about to enter an exclusive restaurant one evening, the boss was walking slightly ahead of us. He stopped suddenly, looking down on the pavement for a long, silent moment. I wondered if I was supposed to pass him. There was nothing on the ground except a single darkened penny that someone had dropped and a few cigarette butts.

Still silent, the man reached down and picked up the penny. He held it up and smiled, then put it in his pocket as if he had found a great treasure.

How absurd! What need did this man have for a single penny? Why would he even take the time to stop and pick it up? Throughout dinner, the entire scene nagged at me. Finally, I could stand it no longer. I causally mentioned that my daughter once had a coin collection and asked if the penny he had found had been of some value.

A smile crept across the man’s face as he reached into his pocket for the penny and held it out for us to see. I had seen many pennies before! What was the point of this?

“Look at it.” he said. “Read what it says.”

I read the words, “United States of America.”

“No, not that; read further.”

“One cent?”

“No, keep reading.”

“In God we Trust?”

“And if I trust in God, the name of God is holy, even on a coin. Whenever I find a coin, I see that inscription. It is written on every single United States coin, but we never seem to notice it! God drops a message right in front of me telling me to trust Him? Who am I to pass it by? When I see a coin, I pray. I stop to see if my trust is in God at that moment. I pick the coin up as a response to God, that I do trust in Him. For a short time, at least, I cherish it as if it were gold. I think it is God’s way of starting a conversation with me. Lucky for me, God is patient and pennies are plentiful!

When I was out shopping today, I found a penny on the sidewalk. I stopped and picked it up and realized that I had been worrying and fretting in my mind about things I can not change. I read the words, “In God We Trust,” and had to laugh. Yes, God, I get the message. It seems that I have been finding an inordinate number of pennies in the last few months, but then, pennies are plentiful! And God is patient.

Consequences of the first murder by Cain in the Bible

The first murder ever recorder was done by Cain as read in the Bible in Genesis Chapter 4. He was jealous of his brother Abel whose offering the Lord preferred to his. So he killed him.
Doubts overcome those who isolate themselves.
To the person who has been reborn, it becomes impossible to commit real sin: to deliberately refuse to love, or to forgive or to continue to struggle.
The Lord demands faithfulness and perseverance from those he has chosen: this is how we save a world that seeks truth everywhere and does not know to which Lord to surrender.
God sees the way one has used his talents; and the sin is to have kept for self what one has received. Many times God waits for a person in this or that desert of his or her life.
Each time God calls people to a mission, he begins by reassuring them, for they immediately understand that such mission will fully take possession of them.
We all receive existence from God, but God exists in himself and depends on no one and nothing whatsoever. God is one, and none of those who receive existence from him can add anything to God.
God is a wholly active and perfectly free person; and he calls us to be persons who exist in truth. Hence, God creates a world in which we can act responsibility.
To worship God does not mean, as some believe, to lie prostrate before him, but rather to approach him face to face. God waits to be served by persons who, in turn, free others.
Experience teaches us that in order to save one’s neighbor, neither material help nor political change nor prayer is sufficient.
God, who exists, is concerned about those who still do not exist in truth. We say that God saves human persons; and so we suppose that these are real persons and not undeveloped persons without liberty, or responsibility. Salvation is not the washing of souls but the restoration of the human person in all dimensions-individual, family and social.
Often enough, society puts obstacles in the way of anyone who does not want to play dirty and who refuses to imitate the lifestyle of selfish persons.
At times, to gain the kingdom we will have to sacrifice even our job, our security and our life.
Scandals are part and parcel of this world, but the power of evil does not diminish in any way the glory that God will receive in the end. Through suffering and hunger for justice God will awaken love and make it grow.
Forgiveness must replace the thirst for revenge. The offensive suffer from our companions are nothing compared with our offenses against God.
The world needs; above everything else, the forgiveness of God, and those who want a more just society will not achieve it through accusations and hatred.

Bible study: Genesis 2-The second creation story

Genesis 2 presents us with another account of creation. It highlights specifically how humans (male and female) were created. After God created everything and then finally man (male), he built a garden and put the man there. The man (male) was lonely so God gave him all the animals as companions, but he was still lonely. So God made the man (male) fall into a deep sleep and took a rib from him and made a companion. When God brought the companion to the man (male) he called her woman, for she came from his bones.

Now the Garden f Eden is where humanity began. It was a beautiful garden from all accounts. Scholars and other passionate individuals have been searching for remnants of this garden but to no avail. Could it be the second/new Jerusalem that awaits us after death? Could it be the paradise where we will be reunited with God face to face? Think about it. In the beginning we had all rights and privileges to this Garden. But when we sinned, popularly known as the Fall of humanity by our first parents, Adam and Eve, we lost that privilege and was barred from this paradise. Humanity struggled continuously after that and continuous to struggle. But then God gave to us his Son who brought with him salvation, the pathway of reconciliation with God. It is this pathway that will grant us entry back into Eden to strolls in the afternoon with God.

Now the Garden of Eden had two trees: the Tree of Life and the Tree of Knowledge of Good and Evil. Their fruit were forbidden to eat. Our first parents with the help of the serpent ate from one of the Tree, the Tree of Knowledge of Good and Evil. Why that Tree? Before they ate the fruit they were in right relations with God. They had no sin. But upon eating the fruit, scriptures says that their eyes were opened. What does that mean? Were they blind? In a sense yes, they were blind to sin. They did not participate in sin. But upon eating the fruit of the Tree of Knowledge of Good and Evil, they now were open to the enticement of sin. And oh yes, sin is enticing. By eating the fruit they allowed sin into the world. The Tree is called the Tree of Knowledge of Good and Evil. This is important as it is what tells us of our free will. We are to use our free will to choose between good and evil.

After God found out that they ate from the Tree of Knowledge of Good and Evil, he put them out of the Garden and secured the Tree of Life. God feared that the humans would have also taken from the Tree of Life and in his words live forever. So God made a Tree with fruits that make you choose good and bad and he made a Tree with fruits that made you live forever. Though God barred humans from the Tree of Life in the Garden of Eden, he still, because he loves us so much, gave us access to the Tree of Life in the form of his Son, Jesus Christ. Jesus in the Gospel of John says, “I am the way, the truth and life, no one comes to the Father, except through me.” Again he will explicitly say, “I am the Bread (fruit/food) of Life, anyone who eats of me will live forever.” See how our lives come full circle? What a great God we have.

Throughout the Garden of Eden there was a river and it divided into four main streams. These streams are:

  1. Pishon which flowed around all the country of Havilah where there is gold, and the gold of that country is good; bidellium and onyx stone as well
  2. Gihon which flowed around all the land of Cush
  3. Tigris which flowed to the east of Assyria, and
  4. Euphrates

Bible study: Genesis 1-The creation story

Have you ever noticed how God created the world? Let’s take a look at Genesis 1 and see the order in which God created all things.

On the 1st day he created day and night. On the 2nd day he created the sky. On the 3rd day he created the earth, seas, vegetation, plants bearing seeds and trees producing fruit. On the 4th day he created the sun, moon and stars. On the 5th day he created the water creatures and birds. On the 6th day he created the wild animals, land animals and man.

This is one version of the creation story. A second version is found in Chapter 2 of Genesis. This Genesis 1 account tells us that God took six days to create the world. This six days could mean an actual day, days, weeks, months or even years. Debating how long a day is, is not to be an issue, even though some make it an issue. By the look of the account, it seems that God took it easy on day 2, for he only created the sky at that time. But the 3rd day was very productive as he did a whole of lot of creating that day. The 6th day, last day in the creation story saw God creating the most important of all his creation, man.

Now man, as in the word itself, has caused some stir among academics and activists. The Bible only says man. Now on first look we will take it to mean only the male gender, especially as Chapter 2 details the account of God forming a woman from a man’s rib. History and theology will later tell us that man especially in the Hebrew/Jewish culture denotes both male and female. However as the years progress and as the talk of inclusivity becomes more popular, activists and academics have proposed the use of the word humans. So on the 6th day God created humans in his image and likeness.

God was pleased with all his creations. By creating he puts order and organizes the world thereby giving meaning and purpose to all that existed. By creating us, God passed the mantle of caregiver. He gave us everything in creation to care for along with enjoying what he has given to us. By doing this we are responding to his generosity and love.

Creation itself has evolved both humans and non-humans. Many animals that were in existence long ago, no longer are, popular and prime example, the dinosaur. We should be aware by now of our relationship with the earth. If the earth dies we will die. But if we die the earth will live on. So let us do our duty as caregivers and care for our earth and all its inhabitants.

My Thoughts About Climate Change : Global Warming or Global Returning?

Sharing these wacky thoughts of mine. Hoping you don’t run away from me even though I speak my mind which is often … kind of weird, strange and Krazee with a capital “K”!

OK So! It’s the year 2017 and it’s spring time here in Austin, Texas, and I never know what kind of weather to expect each day. When we moved to this city in 1998, people use to describe the weather as “climatically perfect”. The weather was terrific!

My kids have grown accustomed to my standard excuse that I use to point the finger of blame at … everything!

If something happens, no matter what … I say:

  • “IDK!  I blame global warming. Whatever!

♦ ♦ ♦

Most of you know I believe/read the Bible a lot and as a result, my rationale and reasoning or explanations may come across to others as somewhat “peculiar”. Like this particular thought.

THOUGHT: Suppose global warming is actually global returning?

Follow my thought process (if you can).

According to the Bible, when the earth was first created, Adam and Eve used to walk around in their birthday suits. Naked! The reason they were given clothes didn’t have anything to do with a change in the weather.  Also, Noah preaching about a coming flood was disregarded by the masses because … Why?  Because it had never rained before! Water had never come down from the sky! It would take faith to believe such a thing could happen.

So if, in the beginning, man and woman were able to walk around au naturel, that must mean that the weather was terrific! All the time! Everywhere on planet earth!!

Today it like 79 degrees in Austin, Texas but the day is over.  Earlier this morning it felt a little chilly. Yesterday the heat from the sun was beating me down!

  • Maybe global warming is not disastrous.
  • Maybe it’s a good thing.
  • Maybe … ? Our weather is just going back to the way it was in the beginning.
  • Maybe … global warming is actually global returning.  (O.o)

JAOOMPT! Just another one of my peculiar thoughts.

‘The Truth Has Set Me Free’
April 20, 2017

Yes, you have read it right as the what the Bible said in John 8:32, “the truth will set you free”.

Thirty-seven years ago today, I went down to the water of baptism and had been confirmed as member of The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints by an American missionary who is assigned to our place. It is the Filipino missionary who baptized me.

It took me 4 years to be converted to the truthfulness of the Gospel of Jesus Christ. I didn’t personally hide myself to a pair of missionaries who went door to door to do the teaching of the first principles and ordinances of the Gospel. It did happen that the first missionaries were transferred and they were replaced by another missionaries who had no idea where I lived.

Anyway, how the truth has set me free? My late parents had no objection for my baptism for I respected them. My mother told me that she hadn’t found wrong with the teachings of the Mormons. So, I decided to be baptized on April 20, 1980. A month later, I received my ordination to the office of the Priest and I was authorized to baptize my wife who was converted in June, 1980 after undergoing the basic teachings on the Gospel.

After that all of my 6 children had joined the Church for I baptized them. Our youngest son who is my junior had served a mission for 2 years. We exemplify the lives of faithful saints for that we’re sealed as a family in the temple of God. Thus, we keep the faith that our family could be together forever.

For those who couldn’t understand our faith, that is okay for I do respect theirs too. The Gospel truth that keeps on ringing to our ears is the 3-fold missions of the Church, that is, to proclaim the Gospel all over the world through the missionary work, to perfect the saints by studying the scriptures, exemplifying them to our lives, and to redeem the dead through a vicarious work performed inside the temple.

You may share your spiritual experience on the spiritual truth of what you believe for I know every religious denominations have their own truth. I know that everyone has the religion freedom. As an LDS (Latter-day Saints), we do respect it.  God bless.

We don’t all believe what you believe.

God day to you one and all. I hope you’re doing well this evening. I am also hoping you were not caught in that blizzard we had a few days ago. Well, let’s all enjoy our day if at all possible. I was talking to a good friend today. I was telling her how tired I am of people saying pray about it. I am kind of tired of it because I have no proof of anything I can’t see.

I wish it were not the case but I had a heck of a lot of stuff happen to me. There is no way there could be anyone watching over me for those things to happen to me. I was defenseless at the time. I could not fight back and some of the time I could find no strength to do so. If your one of those people that are used to saying pray about it. maybe you would think about the bigger picture.

Not everyone believes in prayer. Just like not everyone believes in God. But we tend to be told things that are not good for us. Where on earth has anyone proven that the bible is real? all we know is that it was written. Anyone can write a book and publish it.

There are so many versions of the good book who is to say which one is even close to the truth. Jesus is said to be black and thenI even hear white. Oh well, who can prove either one? Not one person living today. Next time you’re thinking of saying pray about it. Think about how some people don’t want to be told Merry Christmas. They would much rather hear happy Holiday. I am sure someone will not agree with me here.

I am not trying to make you believe or not believe. Just share is all.

the importance of the church of christ to our salvation
February 2, 2017

the Bible teaches us the importance of the church of Christ to a mans salvation

the Lord Jesus Christ is the savior and not the Church, the Bible teaches clearly that Christ is the savior, if it is important to accept the savior it is also important to accept the true Church that Christ will save when judgment day arrives.

How important is the Church of Christ to our salvation according to the Bible?

“And I tell you that you are Peter, and on this rock I will build my church, and the gates of Hades will not overcome it.” (Matthew 16:18 NIV)

a reference from the bible the Lord Jesus Christ established his church when he was still alive here on earth . reffering to the holy scriptures his said that he will establish his church he also told us how important the church he is going to establish. this is what The Lord Jesus Christ Said Matthew 16:18 NIV

He Said “I will build my church, and the gates of Hades will not overcome it.”

would he build the church if its not important ?

lets take a look at the RSV

“And I tell you, you are Peter, and on this rock I will build my church, and the powers of death shall not prevail against it.” (Matthew 16:18 RSV)

this is how important the church christ build. the powers of death shall not prevails agains it.

another verse

“For the Lord Himself will descend from heaven with a shout, with the voice of an archangel, and with the trumpet of God. And the dead in Christ will rise first.” (I Thess. 4:16, NKJV)

thos who died inside the church Christ built will be included in the first ressurection, the holy scripture explains how important is ti to be included .

“Blessed and holy is he who has part in the first resurrection. Over such the second death has no power, but they shall be priests of God and of Christ, and shall reign with Him a thousand years.” (Rev. 20:6, Ibid.)

the Lord Jesus Christ promised that the powers of death shall not prevail agains the church ,those who died inside his church will be in first resurection, the holy scripture also declared  “Blessed and holy is he who has part in the resurrection”

because they will be with christ and for the second death has no power to them. the second death reffers to hell.

this is the verse

“Then Death and Hades were cast into the lake of fire. This is the second death.” (Rev. 20:14, Ibid.).

those are in the first resurection will not be in hell instead they will be with our Lord Jesus Christ.

“Don’t be so surprised! Indeed, the time is coming when all the dead in their graves will hear the voice of God’s Son, and they will rise again. Those who have done good will rise to eternal life, and those who have continued in evil will rise to judgment.” (Jn. 5:28-29, NLT)

the eternal life will be enjoyed by those included on the first resurection the life in the new jerusalem the Holy City. No more death,no Pain,No crying. happy ever after.

“Then I saw a new heaven and a new earth, for the first heaven and the first earth had passed away, and there was no longer any sea. I saw the Holy City, the new Jerusalem, coming down out of heaven from God, prepared as a bride beautifully dressed for her husband. And I heard a loud voice from the throne saying, “Now the dwelling of God is with men, and he will live with them. They will be his people, and God himself will be with them and be their God. He will wipe every tear from their eyes. There will be no more death or mourning or crying or pain, for the old order of things has passed away.” (Rev. 21:1-4, NIV)

the members of the church of Christ who are still alive when christ arrive they will no longer die but they will be along with the resurected they will meet in the savior to be with him forever.

“For the Lord himself will come down from heaven, with a loud command, with the voice of the archangel and with the trumpet call of God, and the dead in Christ will rise first. After that, we who are still alive and are left will be caught up together with them in the clouds to meet the Lord in the air. And so we will be with the Lord forever.” (I Thess. 4:16-17, NIV)

blessed are those who belong to the church that christ built because they will include in first resurection when judgment day and second death that  is the eternal punishment in hell. shall no power over them instead they will rise and enjoy eternal life in new jerusalem the Holy City. the savior commanded those who want to be save should enter the Church of Christ.

“I am the door; anyone who comes into the fold through me will be safe.” (John 10:9, REB)

Christ said, “anyone who comes into the fold through me will be safe.” The fold the Lord Jesus referring to is the Church of Christ

“Take heed therefore to yourselves over which the Holy Spirit has appointed you overseers to feed the church of Christ which he has purchased with his blood.” (Acts 20:28, Lamsa)

the Lord Jesus Christ Himself commanded those who want to be saved to enter the fold through Him, or to enter the Church of Christ, the Church He built.
