This afternoon – my fiancé and I went to our local grocery store before grabbing sandwiches for lunch. At the grocery store, we went in for beverages. We bought a jug of my favorite lemonade from Simply Lemonade. I also noticed a new flavor being sold also from Simply Lemonade with Strawberry (so I had to pick that up also and give it a try) and a bag of Ranch Doritos. Upon checking out, the store I went to is participating in a board game contest called Monopoly. For every purchase (or select purchases you can earn more pieces) but essentially at the bottom of the receipt – it will tell you how many game pieces you earn and how many you will receive. My receipt says only four pieces but the cashier gave me a handful. When I got home to check, I counted 38 pieces he gave me! That was very sweet of him. I guess he gave out a lot because not many people are playing also the game ends in about a week anyway! I have never won anything but I decided to open them all up. Out of the 38 pieces, I was an instant winner for 7 items! Even though the items are not expensive, it is better than nothing and useful items for the house. That is so cool.
What we won:
- Replay for (2) more tickets
- (2) Hass Large Avocados
- French Bread Loaf
- 26 oz Iodized Salt
- 100 count Aspirin 325 mg
- 74 count Ultra soft Facial Tissues
Also for the ones that did not have instant winner codes, you can submit the codes online for a second chance to win fun prizes. I will do that later. This is a fun way of grocery shopping!
Does your grocery store take part of any fun games like this? Some people go overboard with games like this but I do not.
