Money, Position & Happiness – What We Don’t Know About! (Part-VII)

Part VII of VII Parts

(This is a 7 blog series covering the titled topic. The breaking in small parts are intended to keep the article from being too long or dry. If you like it please continue to read all the blogs of the series before you conclude anything. Thanks and happy reading.)

Here is the time to see the truth. The object is inanimate and has no power in itself to give you happiness or sadness. It is the thoughts associated with the object which was giving me happiness. It is my liking of the object which is material for giving me happiness. The same object would not give same amount of happiness to another person because he may not have the same level of liking for the object. A toy car makes a boy child happier than a girl child just as a doll does it the other way round. Now when my ideas about the object changed, my liking of the object stopped and I became upset. Hence comes the moot question: Whether my happiness was linked directly to the object or was it linked to the liking of the object?

Yes, the happiness was linked to the liking of the object. And the two things are not the same any more. This means my thoughts towards the object actually determined whether I would be happy or upset with the object still lying in my hands. The object itself has no power to induce happiness or sadness in the person. Same is the case with other person or situation. It is not the other person or the situation which creates happiness, sadness, anger, hatred, love, etc. within me. But on the contrary, my feelings of liking or disliking the other person or the situation determine whether I would be happy or sad or angry or otherwise by seeing the other person or situation. It all depends on the train of thoughts I am creating in respect of that object, situation or the person. The responsibility of creation of thoughts has to be taken by us. We cannot blame the other object, situation or person to have created my thought. Had the object, situation or the person created the thoughts then all persons would have experienced the same feelings in similar situations or with similar persons. But it is the individual person who is responsible for creating their own thoughts that each person feels the situation differently than others.

Achievement, Object and People are the three things on which we have made our happiness programmed. These things don’t have happiness contained in themselves, hence they cannot EVER give happiness to us all by themselves. Had this been the case then they would have given happiness equally to everyone…every time. Happiness actually arises from our own created thoughts.
