Concert crown not connected with Close Up Open Air Concert

The recent “Closeup Forever Summer” open-air concert, handled by Belgian DJ duo Dimitri Vegas and Like Mike in the Philippines had claimed the lives of 5 audiences including teenagers, the news said.

The concert which lasted till early morning of the following day was attended by more or less 14,000 people in the ground of SM mall at Pasay City, Philippines.

The incident was investigated and it was found out that one of the dead was a 33-year-old American tourist. The police who conducted the investigation wouldn’t take the presumption that the cause of the death of those fatalities was drug-related as while they were having a drinking spree in separate places while the concert was going on. The victims just fell down to the ground in different places and time. They didn’t know each.

The major toothpaste company told the public that they regret what had happened to the audiences though they secured the place for safety and security reasons.

However, there were reports alleged that those dead persons had taken drugs mixed to their liquor drinks in an overdose quantity. Others died due to a heart attack. Some were dehydrated due to the heat caused by the El Niño phenomenon. The victims who were rushed to the nearby hospital were pronounced by the attending doctor as dead on arrival.

The victims were identified as Bianca Fontejon, 18, and businessman Lance Garcia. The other fatalities were Eric Anthony Miller, 33, an American; Ariel Leal; and Ken Migawa, 18. They were examined by the doctor to determine the allegation that they died for drug overdose mixed in their drinks. It was reported that Garcia died on arrival at the hospital while the rest died on the following day the medical report said.

Chief Insp. Rolando Baula of the Pasay City Philippine National Police who conducted the investigation said that they will coordinate with the US Embassy regarding the case of Miller.
