Available Balance
Freelancing Sites to Earn Money

I’m from the East and it’s difficult to find the same type of writing opportunities as the ones available for people on the other side of the planet. However, there’s still plenty of ways on how you can make a buck plus with the proper discipline, you should be pretty okay whether you are on this side of the globe or elsewhere. And so, in order to help myself as well as others like me, I tried  (signed up and tested) plenty of sites to see what really works for (Filipino) writers. There’s no sugar coating on this article so I hope you’ll find what suits you best.

Here’s the list:

  1. essays.ph/

I’ve been a freelance member of this site since 2010. As their ghostwriter, I pretty much earn between $2.00 to $5.00 per article. It’s not bad if you are doing it part time. The downside, however, is that the assignments are limited so not all ghostwriters who are on this site get the chance to pick an assignment to work on. The trick though is to always check the site everyday and not be too picky. Once you claim an assignment, you will be given 24hours to 72hours to work. Any delays in the submission can cost you either through a warning or losing the assignment all together so other ghostwriters can work on it.

  1. Upwork.com (Odesk or Elance)

I’m one of the newbies in Upwork and although I’m not very lucky here I can still say that this is a great platform for anyone who wants to work directly with US, UK, and local clients. The earnings will depend on many things, mainly, if you are on the entry level you’re pretty much getting $2.00 to $3.00 per hour, intermediate, a good enough $3.00 to $6.00 and so on. As a member Upwork gets 10% of whatever income you make every time you make a withdrawal. If you are not making enough, this sliding fee can be a downside since you still have to worry about other fees like bank transfer and all that.

  1. guru.com

When I started out as an Administrative Assistant, I find Guru.com to be a very helpful site for both the freelancer and the client. The response of the clients here is fast; you won’t have to wait for days on end before you receive anything from the client.

These are just the top 3 sites that I use for my home based work but you can explore other options available that suits your needs as a freelancer.

    2. I registered with essays.ph. but did not pursue or write for it; I tried odesk and elance; had some but I stopped writing also. I don’t know guru.com. Thanks for this info.

    3. though i stoped writing for years, now when i found literacybase i started to write, and hope it works, i tried odesk and also other sites they are not good and i hated the revenue they offer, they took most of the money and give writers just pennies, anyway hope this site will work nice and we earn more money here adding to this getting to knwo few good friends, the sites that i tried are expertscolumn, shvoole and literaceybase now, but i didnt hear about essays. it is something i have to consider? i wish if someone give more advises and details about the sites, if they accept international or just usa, if they pay paypal or they offer more payments options for the international writers, if they have to make you write long or short posts, everything of these will affect how fast we make money online here
