Absolutely. Who will want to visit a cluttered, unkempt blog? I think that it’s better to have a simple and neat design rather than having a very complex one. The design should be aesthetic and easy for the users to navigate. The blog design shouldn’t distract the users from its content.

I agree on this one and I tend to have a very simple, basic blogs even if I know how to make themes and templates.

I used to put my own blogs to a public ‘shaming’ just to see the  reaction of the web designers.

The thing is that they will do absolutely everything to try and sell you a very expensive but completely redundant theme or template just to earn money.

Many of them will treat an every inch of your space as a possibly very expensive advertising spot, making the whole template cluttered and annoying.

Plus, don’t forget this really irks the advertisers, so even if you hire somebody that somebody can sunk your effort within two lines of a code.
