Started watching one of those popular crime TV shows. (Forgive me. Can’t remember the name of the show.) The detectives wanted to get evidence to prove that a father who had been sexually abusing his daughter, murdered his son-in-law, because he wanted his daughter back for himself!
Revolting story line huh? Yeah I know. Sounds just like real life.
Anyway! The daughter found the “evidence” before the detectives did and she planned, rather than have her father go to jail and pay for his crime, she was going to do the “punishing” instead. Oh yeah daddy! It’s reaping time! Let’s see if your abuse can withstand my anger!
The detectives figured out that she was withholding critical evidence so she get her revenge on her father. The lead detective tells his team his plan in order to trick the girl into giving up the evidence. He says something to the effect: “We’ve got to make her think that the evidence is useless.”
Don’t ask me what happened. I didn’t finish watching the show. I got distracted.
But this line in the script, along with an article about who invented money, led me to a thought about money!
Wouldn’t it be nice if we could make money useless?
At the end of the article about who invented money, the question is asked: “If you were to reinvent money today, what would you use?”
My answer? I don’t know. But it would be something that everybody in the world could have equal access to.
In this way, there would not be this situation of the haves and the have-nots, and greedy people trying to lord it over poor people, this foolish talk about money is power, etc., etc. Y’all know who 50 Cent is? He is a popular Rapper in the United States. Instead of people having this “50 Cent ~ get rich or die trying” mentality, people can devote their life to truly profitable work like finding cures for diseases and sickness. Because really, health is better than money! Howard Hughes, another famous American entrepreneur, was a rich man. But he died horribly. What good was his money to him? It was useless! On a more positive note, there is a Howard Hughes Medical Institute.
You may be thinking: ‘Well if you were a wealthy person you wouldn’t think this way about money. Only poor people think this way.’
My response to that thought would be:
There was once a time in the history of mankind when money was not a god! I have never lived during that time and was just wondering what it would be like. It’s a dream. No harm in dreaming. 🙂
