Treat insomnia by yoga — A Powerful Way

Nothing is pleasant than sleep. I think it is truth. Most of us have a sleeping disorder at least one time in our life. A sleepless night leaves a drowsy day. A tedious day puts an end in your regular working life.

 

According to many researchers, insomnia can be entirely curative if we do yoga. In order to treat insomnia from its roots, we have to grab a regular yoga routine.

 

Yoga to heal insomnia:

 

Head-to-knee pose:

An effective yoga for insomnia.

 

Steps:

Sit on floor straightly. Keep your spine erect.

Now fold the right knee and open the hip. The right knee should be touched to the floor.

You need to Inhale slowly keeping the spine erect.

Bend towards and touch your head to the left knee.

Stay in that posture for 25-30 seconds.

Exhale while lifting your head.

 

Round: Do this for 3-5 rounds.

 

Standing forward bend:

This pose helps to get relieved from insomnia together with a headache. Besides these it reduces stress.

 

Steps:

Stand straightly with your feet. Make sure the gap between your two feet should be about six inches.

Fold your torso and bend your arms towards the floor.

Grab the lowest portion of your both leg by your hands.

While bending your torso inhale slowly.

Stay in the pose for 30 seconds.

Go back in and lift torso while exhaling.

 

Round: 2-3 rounds each day.

Plow pose:

Plow pose is a healing pose for most the organs of the body. It cures stomach disorder, sinusitis, allergy, insomnia etc.

 

Steps:

Lie down flat on your back.

Place your arms beside your body facing downwards.

Lift your legs while inhaling.

Use hands for support.

Lift your hips and bent your legs whereas the legs can touch the floor over your head.

Be stuck in that posture and count at least up to 15.

Now slowly go back to the previous position.

Take rest for 15 seconds and perform the next round.

Increase the timing of holding the posture gradually.

 

Round: 5- 6 rounds each day.

 

Corpse pose:

This is a very relaxing pose aids to get sufficient sleep.

 

Steps:

Lie down on your back.

There should be at least 5-6 inches gaps between two legs.

Keep your arms beside your body facing downwards.

Close your eyes and take a deep breath.

Just relax your mind.

Stay 30 seconds.

 

Round: 2-3 rounds.

 

Sleep and yoga are connected to each other, proved by science. Yoga is a nervous system calmer. Sleeping disorder is a reason of fluctuated nervous system. Yoga calms the nervous system of the whole body. It fixes our body, mind, and soul.

Not only yoga, you should follow other instructions besides yoga to beat insomnia. Such as:

  • Healthy diet. For instances: milk, yogurt, cheese, apples etc.
  • Decreasing the usage of the smart phone, computer, laptop, and TV, especially at the bed time.
  • Switch off all the fluorescent lights before sleeping.
  • Do some meditation before sleeping.
  • If possible take a body massage before going to bed.
  • Have a hot water bath few minutes before sleeping.
  • Last but not the least is always think positive and keep aside all the stress before going to bed.
